Relief may be taken as per Rule 25-1. Committee Communications August was very much a continuation of July in respect to the weather. WET. However the week of sunshine was all it took to get the course dried out and looking great. The drainage that was installed down the 4 th was well timed and has coped well with all the deluge we ve had. For those who saw the video on facebook you d understand what a great investment the culvert was on the 17 th, pretty impressive footage. At the August meeting the Committee passed a new Logo for the Club letterhead, website and printing. We believe it is clear and vibrant and will help us promote Westown in a new positive light. We thank Kim Hills for the time she invested in this project. There was discussion and debate on the 2018 subscriptions. The emphasis being on supporting our existing members, having the ability to be more flexible with memberships, simplifying the categories and being comparative with other clubs in New Plymouth. Our Club offers a competitive course, enjoyable competitions, Clubhouse facilities and is staffed 7 days a week. There is only one other Club in New Plymouth that offers as much. Even though we are looking at a slight rise in Subscriptions, we still rely on our members being proactive in supporting fundraising events the Committee establishes to cover costs especially any course development. These events are also initiatives to bring non members into the Club environment. There are still positions available for the Committee. If you feel you have the skills and experience that can benefit the Club the nomination forms are in the clubhouse. We are always looking to companies for sponsorship. If you are aware of any that may possibly like to advertise with the Club please see Nirelle. Good Golfing.
From the Office Feedback from a member: Pitching marks on the greens are not being repaired. This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time. Please ensure you fix your own pitch marks on each green. Spike marks from shoes on the greens, as you see all PGA Pros doing after having putted and before walking off the green, they pat down spike marks, especially around the cup. This would be very helpful and courteous to players following you as patting down spike marks is not allowed before putting.
