APRIL 14 Newsletter Page 2 P R E S I D E N T S M E S S A G E Surely April will finally get us out of the lingering cold, crummy weather. After all its Master s month and the excitement that it brings for golfers the world over. I m sure you re as ready as I am for Spring to get here and get the flowers blooming. Enough of this dreary brown grass and foliage. Be gone and give us some color! Maumelle Country really has some die-hard golfers. Even though January, February and March had over 15 fewer days available for golf than 2013, we just about matched 2013 s golfing rounds for the same time period. Now that tells you something about our golfing membership. Any day that was nice, really brought out large numbers on the course. What that tells me is that the course will really be booming as the real golf weather arrives along with the annual, interest boost in golf created by Masters Week. On the food and beverage front, one of the more perplexing facts that the Board of Directors scratch their heads about is the amount of funds the receives from members that don t meet their monthly food minimum. Perhaps it s the cold, dark winter days that hinders one from venturing to the for food and drink. It couldn t be the food as it is always tasty and served in ample portions as well as the fact that you really get your money s worth with wine and mixed drinks. I would put our s lunch specials, daily soups and evening specials against any other food establishment in the Little Rock area. So as the weather gets better and with the advent of daylight savings time, think of the when you want to eat out. You ll be glad you did and so will the. Thank you for being a member of our and best wishes for a fun, enjoyable golf month. Happy Hour Tues. Fri 5-7pm 10% Off Drinks Wed. Night Family Night Kids Eat Free w/ Adult Entrée Sincerely, Ken Newton President F RO M YO U R C L U B H O U S E M A N A G E R Now that Spring is really here, we are starting to see more activity inside and outside the club. It has been nice to see many of the newer members and existing members hanging out on the course and in the grill getting to know one another. Now is really the time to show off what we do here at the club. Now is also the best time to bring in a friend who may be a potential member and show them what we have. It is very important to our entire staff that the membership is happy and positive about everything here at the club. When things pop up that may not be up to expectations, please drop in or email me with your concerns and we will take them to task and do the best we can to resolve the problem or tweak it to make it better. We are going into Spring Cleaning mode and working toward making everything from the front gate to the 13 th hole as nice as we can possibly make it. We have a group of ladies that are planning to do a fund raiser either in April or May, weather depending, in the front round. They are planning a Huge Yard Sale where all of the proceeds go back into needed repairs in special places. Our lack of safe storage here makes it hard for us to keep our event materials in good shape. We hope to fix that soon. This event should go a long way towards that problem. If you would like to participate and have some items that you would let go of to go towards this project, please let me know. I know the ladies are not looking for just the items, but also the participation. They are not looking for people to drop off items, they also need the help so let me know if you are interested in being a part of the fund raiser. I will get the details and dates as soon as we meet. Thanks to everyone that supports and uses the club. That is what makes us successful. See you at the club, Bill Wallace

APRIL 14 Newsletter Page 3 F RO M T H E P RO S H O P Minute with Maddox Greetings from the golf shop! Spring is here and golf season is in full swing! As the golf course becomes busier please make sure to pair up in MCC Carts when you have a chance. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter as we have a limited number of club carts. Our new apparel and golf equipment is arriving daily. We have demo clubs available in Callaway, Titliest, Taylor Made, Ping, and Cleveland. We would love to have you try them out. Just ask Justin, Josh, or myself and we would love to watch you hit some on the range help you decide which driver1777 or iron set is right for you. We have fitting carts from Ping and Titleist to properly fit you for irons. The Masters makes April one of my favorite months. Make sure to stop by the golf shop and purchase your square on the Masters Board. This works similar to a Super Bowl Board works. Stop by the golf shop for details. Thanks to the MGA we have renovated the bunker on #15 fairway. Also, thanks to several member who donated for the Cart path smoothing project in April. A big question I always get this time of year is When will we Get off the Cart paths? The answer is soon. We normally try to shoot for the first of April. However, conditions have to be ready before we make the change. With this year s cold winter I am not sure the fairways will be ready by then. We will keep everyone posted.
