Mission Statement: The mission of Team NC softball will be to provide our student athletes with the opportunity to grow and develop as softball players so that they may achieve the goal of continuing their softball careers at the collegiate level. We will strive to be the premiere travel fast-pitch organization in North Carolina, to be rated as a Top 10 program in the Southeast, and to achieve Top 50 ranking on the national level. We challenge our coaches to continue to develop and refine their coaching skills, and to work with every team in our organization for the betterment of each team and every player. We challenge our players to be well-rounded young ladies, who excel in all areas of their lives, including family, faith, community, education and athletics. Each teams goals will be to: 1. Increase every players skills and knowledge of the game 2. Play the most competitive tournaments both regionally and nationally 3. Qualify for National Championship tournaments (i.e. ASA, PGF) 4. Rank in the Top 5 in their age group every year 5. Respect teammates, coaches, game officials and the game at all times
Team NC - Hatch Player/Parent Contract & Expectations Congratulations on being selected to participate on the Team NC Softball program. We look forward to a competitive season and are excited to be a part of your daughter s development as a player. Parent(s) or guardian(s), along with the player, must sign, date and return this Contract as soon as possible. If you have any questions before signing, please address those immediately. Team NC reserves the right to amend these guidelines at any time with or without prior notice to players and parents. This travel program is very competitive and requires a greater level of commitment from everyone players, parents and coaches. In order for our team to reach full potential, the entire team must be well coordinated and moving in the same direction. The parent(s)/guardian(s), by signing this Contract, acknowledge that their child is in good general health and give approval for their child to participate in any and all Team NC activities. This organization will not tolerate any behavior on the playing field or in the stands that would hinder the spirit of sportsmanship or its six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. Player Expectations 1) All Team NC players are expected to strive for academic excellence in school and maintain an acceptable GPA as determined by your parents and coaches. Submission of report cards to Team NC is required within one week of receiving report cards and will not be accepted from parents. Players will not be reminded to submit reports cards. 2) All Team NC players are expected be responsible for and to carry all of their equipment to and from games and practices, without the assistance of a parent, coach, or guardian. 3) All Team NC players are expected to volunteer at least 4 times per year with their Team NC teammates. These opportunities will be established by the coaching staff. 4) All Team NC players are expected to use all social media responsibly and must provide the Team NC Coaches and Managers access to their various social media accounts. 5) On and off the field, all Team NC players are expected to be respectful, have positive attitudes, and refrain from using bad language. There will be no instances of physical 2
aggression or uncooperative behavior, including facial expressions, back talk, or negative body gestures. 6) All Team NC players will take pride in their uniform and wear it properly. Removal of any part of the uniform during a game must be approved by the coach. 7) All Team NC players are expected to run on and off the softball field during games and practices and give maximum effort at all times. 8) All Team NC players are expected to take any and all positional assignments and play them to the best of your ability at all times. 9) Team NC players will not throw bats, helmets or show any type of disruptive behavior on the field or in the dugout. Such outbursts could result in removal from the team. 10) Team NC players will never approach an umpire regarding a call or a play. 11) Team NC players are not to leave the dugout during games unless given permission by a coach. 12) Only Team NC coaches and players are allowed in the dugout. Team NC members are not allowed to eat inside the dugout no food, soda or candy is allowed inside the dugout. Players should have everything they need with them inside the dugout (sunscreen, medications, water, snacks, etc.). 13) Team NC players are not allowed to use cell phones at team meetings, warm ups, games or practices and must be kept inside your bag at all times. 14) All Team NC players are expected to practice at least 180 minutes outside of the normal practice schedule each week and provide a log of that extra practice. Practice drills and specific skills can be provided for each player to work on. Exception: If a player is involved in another competitive sport during the softball season, 90 minutes is expected. 15) All Team NC players are expected to attend practices, team functions, and games and arrive on time with a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and have fun. "On time" is defined as being on the field warming up before the start of each practice. 16) All Team NC players, if they have questions about playing time, positions, and/or any other team concerns, will approach the coach directly at an appropriate time and place. Coaches should never be approached about these issues during practices or games. 17) All Team NC players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship on and off the field. 18) Failure to adhere to the above policies could result in suspension and/or termination from Team NC. 3
Parent/Guardian Expectations 1) All Team NC Parents are expected to have their daughters, as well as themselves, adhere to the Team NC Player expectation by providing support, encouragement, and positive reinforcement. 2) Parents/Guardians will provide a valid birth certificate for their daughter along with this executed Contract. 3) Parent/Guardian and player acknowledge and agree that when participating in activities with Team NC their actions reflect on the reputation of the organization, coaching staff and its players. Team NC reserves the right to dismiss from Team NC any player or parent/guardian who breaches good sportsmanship or ethics. Such situations can include, but are not limited to the following: a. Negative cheering of any kind. b. Approaching a coach during a game to discuss playtime, position or strategy. c. Approaching an official before, during, or after any game. d. Arguing bad calls. e. Foul language at any time. f. Throwing items. g. Smoking, drinking, drugs. 4) DO NOT COACH YOUR CHILD FROM THE STANDS! The coach and player on the field may have specific signs or prearranged scenarios in place. Do not interfere with the Coach s instruction. 5) Conduct of any guest of the parents is the responsibility of the parent/guardian whose child will participate on the team. 6) Parents/Guardians will demand that their daughter treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect at all times. 7) Parents/Guardians will not openly complain about team issues in front of their daughter, other players or team parents. 8) At no time will any parent/guardian criticize or ridicule a child or any player for making a mistake. 9) Parents/Guardians will inform coaches of any ailment, injury or physical disability that may affect the safety of the child or the safety of others. 10) Parents/Guardians may withdraw their daughter from the team at any time upon written notice to the Head Coach. No fees will be refunded. Any uniforms or equipment must be returned to the organization upon request. Unpaid items ordered prior to withdrawal are forfeited. 4
Out of Town Guidelines 1) Travel: The head coach will be in charge of securing a block of rooms that the team will declare as the Team Hotel for that tournament. Parents will be responsible for paying for their hotel room(s) upon checking in unless otherwise notified. You are required to stay at the team hotel unless an exception is made by the head coach. 2) Lights Out: Players are to be in bed and completed with pre-bedtime activities (showers, etc.) with lights out by 10:00pm on nights before scheduled games. 3) Extracurricular Activities: Players are not to participate in extra activities during game days including, the swimming pool, the beach, amusement parks, etc. unless an exception is made by the head coach. All players are expected to attend any practices or team functions such as lunches, dinners and games. While out of town all players need to eat healthy snacks & drinks. No Soda or Candy consumed until all scheduled games are played. 4) Parents not at the Venue with their player: To ensure maximum safety of our players, please make sure your player is assigned to another parent or coach prior to leaving them at a venue for any length of time. Please also inform the head coach in case the player needs to be located for warm-ups, team lunches etc. Finally, make sure to inform your player themselves so they know the plan. Consequences and Penalties Failure to live up to the Code of Conduct, whether it be by athlete or parent/guardian, may result in one of the following sanctions being imposed by the coaching staff upon the athlete: 1) Suspension from the team the suspension imposed may range from one game or practice to one or more games or weeks, depending upon the severity of the misconduct and the surrounding circumstances. 2) Dismissal from the team for the remainder of the season. 3) Permanent dismissal from Team NC. 5
Financial/Payment Policy The cost for playing on Team NC 12U for the Fall Season of 2015 is $300.00 and can be paid by check only (payable to Team NC Hatch) according to the following payment schedule: Payment 1 $150.00 due on 9/10/2015 (Player is not eligible to play unless this payment is made) Payment 2 $150.00 due on 1 0 /8/2015 These fees include: Tournament Fees, Insurance, Sanctions, Misc. Equipment, Operating Costs, i.e. Website, Game-changer. Once a due or fee is paid, it is non-refundable. No exceptions. 6
Waiver/Release of Liability In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Team NC Softball Program, related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates and agrees that: 1) The risk of injury from the activities involved in the program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular rules, equipment and personal discipline may reduce the risk, the risk of serious injury does exist and, 2) I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others, and assume all responsibility for any participation; and, 3) I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately, and 4) I for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, hereby release and hold harmless Team NC, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event ("Releases"), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES OR OTHERWISE. 5) I authorize Team NC to use my name, information, and photographs on all Team NC related printed or internet media. I have read this release of liability and assumptions of risk agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without any inducement.
