2016 Senior Lasso Dinner On May 25, 2016 the 2015/2016 Lassos and Manager, their family members, Sponsor Melanie Davis and LAA members gathered at the Spaghetti Warehouse for a dinner honoring graduating Lasso Seniors. The LAA was proud to treat all of our 2015/2016 Lassos and their manager to dinner. The night began with socializing and a look back at the events of the past year of Lasso performances and daily life in a slide presentation and program courtesy of LAA members, Pat and Jim Moss. Pat and Jim are great supporters of our Lassos and attend and record the majority of Lasso events during the year. After dinner, LAA President Nancy Andry presented gifts to the Senior Lassos including a silver Lasso pendant and a 1st year of LAA membership! Melanie Davis also presented fun awards to the Lassos as the Lasso sisters tried to guess the recipient of each award certificate! And the icing on top...cake (of course) and a set of DVDs which recorded the past wonderful Lasso year from Pat and Jim Moss!

Join us on Friday, June 17 at Thomas Jefferson High School, for the San Antonio premiere of a new documentary entitled, A Classy Broad honoring 1943 Jefferson graduate and Lasso, Marcia Birenberg Nasatir. The new documentary, "A Classy Broad," chronicles the career of trailblazing Hollywood executive Marcia Nasatir of San Antonio, who broke through the glass ceiling back in the '70s. At a time when gender inequality in Hollywood continues to make headlines, Anne Goursaud's movie, first shown in Santa Barbara, seems especially relevant. Marcia achieved success as a producer and as the first woman to serve as vice president of production at a major Hollywood studio. In other words, she picked which movies to make! DETAILS 5-6 pm Explore outside campus. 6-6:30 pm Limited tour of the interior of the school. 6:30 pm Local comedian Cleto Rodriguez, MC, honors Marcia Nasatir. 7 pm Documentary begins. After 7 pm NO FURTHER ADMITTANCE 8:30 pm Q&A with Marcia Nasatir & Producer -Anne Goursaud. Tickets available at $10 per person via Paypal, credit card or at the door until 6:45 p.m. Visit www.aclassybroad.info for more information.

Board Members with Marcia during the filming of the movie. Left to Right: Joe-Beth Kirkpatrick, Nancy York, Marcia Nasatir and Beth Smith. Roping in the Main Hall at TJHS Joe-Beth Kirkpatrick, Marcia Nasatir and Beth Smith.
