Waskom-Elysian Fields 4-H Basic Training First Aid Class 4-H students from Waskom and Elysian Fields learned valuable lessons in First Aid as the Waskom Volunteer Fire Department offered the group a basic first aid class on how to treat some of the unanticipated accidents they may face in day to day life. Waskom first responder, Tim Weglowski, with the assistance of Waskom 5 th grader and 4-H member, Mya Stuart, led the session by teaching them the essential techniques to help them cope in an emergency. Mr. Weglowski stressed that it s vitally important to remain calm in an emergency in order to properly help others and clearly convey information to 911 officials; also, know the physical address to accurately direct emergency responders to your location. Immediately afterwards, the 4-H students invited and treated all first responders to an appreciation dinner, held at the fire station, and also presented them with commemorative gifts. Waskom 4-H Club Upcoming FOOD & FASHION CAMP July 9 th - 11 th - 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Waskom Elementary/Middle School The Waskom 4-H Club is hosting a Food & Fashion Mini-Camp to boys & girls entering 3 rd grade through 12 th grade for the upcoming school year.
