Once a horse has competed as a Show Horse or a Show Hunter at its first VAS event in a calendar year, it must remain as a Show Horse or a Show Hunter at VAS Competitions for that calendar year. Once a horse has successful won a Champion in its first open ring it cannot continue to compete in that equivalent section in other rings during the show. First place getters are eligible to compete in multiple open rings until successful as a Champion. > First season/newcomers these events are open to horses who are eligible to compete in both VAS Ltd first season classes and Barastoc Newcomer classes. Horses are not eligible if previously shown under saddle prior to 1 January (first season) or 1st May (newcomer) of the current calendar year. Horses may only compete in these classes for one season at the beginning of their saddle career, open hacks are ineligible. > Horse Age as at 1st August.
