Manitoba Clydesdale Club President s Message Dear Exhibitors: This year is our 29th Annual Manitoba Clydesdale Classic. Once again, our show will be held in conjunction with the Manitoba Thresherman's Reunion in Austin, Manitoba. The show is continuing to be a four day show, taking in Wednesday through Saturday. We hope that this will give everyone time to enjoy themselves. We will have riding classes Thursday afternoon, as well as keeping the favourites including junior classes. We hope everyone has a chance to take in the rest of the Austin experience. There are an endless number of things to see including the Agriculture Museum, threshing competitions, and an evening rodeo just to name a few. The Thresherman's Reunion requires each exhibitor to provide proof of liability insurance; we ask that you provide a letter of confirmation of your liability insurance along with your entries. We are looking forward to another great year at the Manitoba Clydesdale Classic this year. We hope to have another successful and fun show. Whether as an exhibitor or spectator, we hope to see you in Austin this year. RULES & REGULATIONS 1. ARRIVAL THROUGH NORTH GATE ONLY. Armbands and passes available upon entry at the Little Red Barn. Armbands must be worn at all times. 2. The stalls will be given first to horses. Tack & feed stalls if available. First bedding of straw donated by Gentrice Farms. Shavings will be available for sale. Hay and Straw available through pre-order on Entry Form. NOTE: ALL STALLS MUST BE FORKED OUT BEFORE LEAVING. 3. Horses to be stabled by 6:00 p.m., Tuesday. No decorations can be taken down prior to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Reminder no trucks are to be pulled into the stabling area prior to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Release time. 4. All exhibitors are expected to decorate their stalls. 5. No whips longer than 3 feet are allowed in line classes. 6. Each exhibitor may be asked to take part in the Thresherman s Reunion daily afternoon parade in front of the grandstand. 7. A three year old mare with or without a foal is to be shown in the Three Year Old Mare Class NOT in the Brood Mare class. Foals must be led in the ring. 8. Line Classes: an exhibitor may show any number of horses in any class BUT only two prize monies per exhibitor will be paid. No horse may be shown in more than one line class except for group classes. (#18, #19, #20) Registered Clydesdales must be papered in the USA or Canada. 9. ONE prize money will be paid per exhibitor for the group classes and only ONE prize money will be paid per stable shown in any hitch class. Junior classes 32, 33, 37, 38 are exempt. 10. Team and Cart classes: NO CROSS ENTRIES ALLOWED. 11. Horses and exhibitors must be suitably presented or they may be refused entry into the ring. Numbers are to be worn in the show ring. 12. Only multiple hitch entries will be accepted late but no later than 8:00 p.m. on the Tuesday of the show. 13. Junior exhibitors are 17 years and under as of January 1 st of the calendar year. Junior girls may select either junior or ladies driving classes, BUT NOT BOTH. No one under the age of 10 will be allowed to show in the ring. 14. Saskatchewan Clydesdale Association Breeders Challenge Eligible Horses include: All horses born, bred and registered to Saskatchewan breeders; all horses born in Saskatchewan providing Dam of off spring was owned by Saskatchewan breeder at time of birth of entered horse; all horses now transferred and owned out of province but were born and registered to Saskatchewan breeder; no age restrictions; all genders. Rules: all owners of horses must be a Saskatchewan Clydesdale Association member (Single Membership is $20; Family Membership $30); horses must be purebred with valid registration papers, (pending papers will not qualify); all horses will be placed in class; all horses may only qualify once per year; only two horses will qualify at each event; four qualifying events, Austin, North Battleford, Nipawin, Swift Current; first place $150, second place $50.00; the final show for champion breeder and owner will be held Nov 1 4 at Yorkton Harvest Showdown; the champion horse owner will receive $1000; the champion breeder will receive $500; the show committee has the final decision on the eligibility of the horses qualifying to enter the final class at the Yorkton Harvest Showdown Nov 1-4; the show committee reserves the right of final decision of any discrepancies that arise from this event. 15. Proof of Liability Insurance is required, please enclose it with your entry form. 16. No For Sale signs are to be posted on any equipment during the show. 17. Camping is available for exhibitors. Camping fees to be paid with the entries. Passes available at the Little Red Barn. 18. General rules governing the show will be posted on the grounds. Any problems are to be referred to the Show Committee.
