QUESTIONS POTENTIAL MEMBERS MAY HAVE: HOW DO MEMBERS SCHEDULE SKIING AND LODGING? All members will have access to the Bluebird Heli app. This app will inform members of availability, forecasted flyable weather, and snow conditions. A green light alert will be sent to members if forecasted weather and snow conditions are excellent. HOW MANY GUESTS CAN MEMBERS INVITE? Up to 8 total guests per membership can be guided from the helicopter daily. HOW MUCH NOTICE IS NEEDED? Members can plan their trip in advance (with a higher chance of weather cancellation) or reserve on short notice (with lower chance of weather cancellation). 48 hours is the minimum notice needed for the helicopter, pilot, guides, chef and lodge staff. WHAT HAPPENS IF MEMBERS USE ALL FLIGHT HOURS OR LODGING INCLUDED IN THE MEMBERSHIP? Members will be able to add hours, lodging or services at their discretion. WHAT IS FLIGHT TIME? Flight time or Hobbs time (flying time) is on a meter in the helicopter, this meter runs only when the helicopter is flying or hovering but not when the helicopter is on the ground. In most cases a group of eight skiers can ski or ride all day long and use around 1-2 hours of Hobbs time. One day of Helicopter skiing and riding is represented by 2 flight hours. WHAT ABOUT WEATHER? We are blessed with over 500 inches of annual snowfall! If it is snowing or conditions preclude flying, other activities are available. No need to sit around waiting to fly.
WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE NEARBY? We offer snowmobile tours in-house. In addition, our lodges are very close to several ski resorts. There is also Snowcat skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and other outdoor activities. Salt Lake City and Park City are a short drive from our operating areas and offer fine dining, shopping, as well as professional sports and entertainment. WHAT ABOUT SAFETY? Safety is our first priority. Our guide staff has over 70 combined years of helicopter guiding experience across many mountain ranges. All skiers and riders are supplied with safety equipment and receive in-depth training. Our pilots are the best available and have impeccable safety records. HOW IS THE TERRAIN? We have over 50,000+ acres of private terrain in three separate operating areas! We have great variety of terrain for your group to enjoy. DO WE ALL NEED TO BE EXPERT SKIERS AND RIDERS? It is helpful if the group is evenly skilled. Our terrain varies from open bowls, chutes and glades and is suited to advanced or expert skiers and riders. WHAT ABOUT THE LODGES? Our lodges are comfortable and classy. All lodges are located in areas that are absolutely unique. Ambience in our lodges is casual and layout makes relaxing and socializing easy. The South Fork and Queen Mountain Lodges are excellent venues for corporate retreats with AV equipment for group discussions and presentations. WHERE ARE THE LODGES AND HELI-SKIING LOCATED? Our lodges and operating areas are located within a one-hour drive or are a 15-20 minute flight east of Salt Lake City International Airport.
