SUNDAY MIXER INSTRUCTIONS (Revised October 10, 2018) Thank you for volunteering to host a Sunday Mixer. To make your task and the task of future Sunday Mixer hosts as easy as possible, these instructions have been included for your use. These instructions apply for only the Caloosa Monthly Mixers, held on the second Sunday of each month. The current Sunday Mixer Chairman is Paul Donohoe. Let s hope for good weather and have a fun-filled afternoon of golf, and most of all, friendship. SUNDAY MIXER GENERAL RULES 1

1. Eligible Players: General and Trial Members may play in mixer events. Social Members and guests are not permitted to play. 2. Singles: Singles are responsible for finding their own partner, a sign-up sheet for singles will be placed in the Golf Shop. When two (2) women singles are paired, the woman with the lower handicap will play using the men s game rules. Two men will not be paired. 3. Pairings: GHIN Tournament Pairings will be used based on the total handicap of a couple. Teams will not be changed so as to redistribute couples based on the League played in by a spouse (i.e. 9 Hole, Exec, Gold, etc.). Teams will not be changed to accommodate members preferences. 4. Team with only 2 Couples: If a team is comprised of only two couples, one couple substitutes for the absent couple on alternate holes and a fifth drive is allowed. Payout for the foursome will be prorated to two thirds of the full team. 5. Games: Mixer Hosts will select the game to be played. Only the games from the Mixer Game Choices listed in this document are to be used. Failure to abide by the tee selection of the game will result in a disqualification of the team. Modifications may only be made with the approval of the SUNDAY MIXER CHAIRMAN in advance. Try to avoid slower games during hot weather or when it is a Mixer/Dinner event. 6. Golf Fee: The fee is $2.00 per person which will be charged to the member s account if the member competed in the event. 7. Signup: Signup must be done in person and the signup sheet initialed. The signup deadline for non-dinner Mixers is the Thursday before the Mixer at 4:00PM. Signup deadline for dinner Mixers is the prior Sunday at 4:00PM. 8. No stand-bys: Only players who signed up for the Mixer and were paired by the GHIN TPP system will be allowed to compete in the event. However, Hosts may adjust teams and add new players in the event of a No Show with the approval of the SUNDAY MIXER CHAIRMAN. 9. Additions: Non-dinner additions/substitutions will not be accepted after GHIN pairings have been completed. 10. NO Shows: Failure to attend on Sunday without having notified the Hosts or Golf Shop will be charged the entry fee. 11. Mixer Cancellation: Entry fee for golf will not be charged. 2

DINNER MIXERS 1. Dinner Fee: The dinner fee is paid by check, payable to: Caloosa Golf & Country Club. The cost for the dinner will be announced in advance. Couples playing in the Mixer must also pay for dinner. NO EXCEPTIONS. A spouse who is not playing in the mixer may join the team for dinner by registering and paying for only the dinner at signup. 2. Substitutions: For dinner mixers, substitutions will only be permitted if arranged by the members and a Mixer Host has been notified prior to the GHIN pairings being completed. Settlement of all costs will be between the members of the arrangement. 3. Mixer Cancellations: If the golf event is cancelled, members should arrive at the appropriate time (4:00PM) for the dinner part of the event. 4. Refunds: No dinner refund for a member cancellation after the signup deadline. 3

MIXER HOST GUIDELINES 1. The Mixer Hosts are responsible for announcing the upcoming event and the Game to be played for the Mixer, either by a poster set up in the beverage room or a mass emailing to the Caloosa Members Yahoo Group or both. The notification should be completed 3 weeks in advance of the event. A poster may be put on a wall or easel, check with Club House staff for assistance. 2. The Mixer Hosts will print the mixer signup sheet from the "Sign Up-Sheet- No-Dinner" (for non-dinner mixers) or the "Sign Up-Sheet-With-Dinner" (for dinner mixers) located in the Forms tab on the Caloosa Members website and place it in the Golf Shop desk. 3. The Mixer Hosts select the game to be played from the Mixer Game Choices listed in this document and must inform the Sunday Mixer Chairman of their selection by 4:00PM on the Thursday before the Event. The selected game will be printed on the back of the score cards. The games listed in the Mixer Game Choices are the only games to be played. Modifications may only be made with the approval of the SUNDAY MIXER CHAIRMAN in advance. 4. Check with the Club House Staff to make sure that enough tables will be set up for the Event. 5. Only players signed up and paired by the GHIN TPP system will be allowed. All requests to play received after the signup deadline should be instructed to contact the SUNDAY MIXER CHAIRMAN. 6. After teams are made and if there are 13 teams or less, the hole assignments will be based on a reverse shotgun. This is to allow for individual play to begin on Tee #1 after the last mixer team finishes Hole #1. 7. Check-in time on Sunday is 11:30AM to 12:15PM. Start the Event at 12:30PM or earlier if all participants have checked in, and all non-mixer players have finished their morning round and are off the course. 8. For regular Mixers the Hosts are responsible for placing Table Numbers on tables, cleaning up and locking up the Club House. Instructions for locking up are on a laminated sheet: LOCK UP THE HOUSE is posted behind the door of front AC handler room. 4

9. For Dinner Mixers, the Golf Hosts handle the golf portion of the Event. The Activities Directors Dinner Hosts will be responsible for decorations, table set up and clean up, caterer expenses, menu, and cost of food per person added in addition to the entry fee. The Dinner and Golf Hosts are jointly responsible for cleaning up and locking up utilizing the instructions in Paragraph #8 above. All dinners are BYOB. 10. Should assistance be needed for Golf issues, contact the Sunday Mixer Chairman. For Dinner issues contact the Activities Director. 5

CHECK LIST FOR SUNDAY MIXER CO-HOSTS NON-DINNER MIXER (Additional items for Dinner-Mixer: see below) 1. Send an email announcement at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Send email reminders weekly. 2. The Mixer Hosts will place the mixer sign-up sheet in the Golf Shop desk after the mixer poster has been hung in the beverage room. 3. The Sunday Mixer Chairman will pick up the signup sheet at 4:00PM on the prior Thursday and leave a notice at the Golf Shop that the mixer signup is closed. Notify the Sunday Mixer Chairman (email or call) as soon as possible of any cancellations. 4. Friday 12:00pm (noon) or earlier, meet at the clubhouse to go over details with the Sunday Mixer Chairman. The following printouts will be given to the hosts: o Score cards with game to be played printed on reverse side. o Team Pairing Sheet. Shows pairings and hole assignments. o Mixer Registration Sheet. Use to check-in players. o Mixer Pay-in/Payout Sheet. Game 5 Women play from BLUE tees, men play from SILVER tees green. Then all putt from that spot. Minimum of two and a maximum of four drives must be used for each player. If a team is comprised of only two couples, one couple substitutes for the absent couple on alternate holes and a fifth drive is allowed. Game 6 Women play from BLUE tees, men play from SILVER tees Ladies drive from even tees. Men drive from odd tees. Men hit best ball of women s green. Then all putt from that spot. Minimum of two and a maximum of four drives must be used for each player. If a team is comprised of only two couples, one couple substitutes for the absent couple on alternate holes and a fifth drive is allowed. Game 7 Women play from GREEN tees, men play from BLUE tees green. Then all putt from that spot. Minimum of two and a maximum of four drives must be used for each player. Game 12 (Not recommended for Dinner Mixers) 2 Clubs - only a putter and 1 other club can be used. You must declare your club prior to your assigned hole. The honor system is in play here. Women play from EXECUTIVE tees, men play from GREEN tees. Ladies drive from even tees. Men drive from odd tees. Men hit best ball of the women s green. Then all putt from that spot. Minimum of two must be used for each player. If a team is comprised of only two couples, one couple substitutes for the absent couple on alternate holes. SUNDAY MIXER PAYOUT TABLE The Payout Table is in document Sunday-Mixer-Payout-Table.pdf located in the Golf tab on the Caloosa Members website. Please use this table to determine the number of teams to pay and the amount for each couple/team. The last place team always receives $4 per couple (they get their entry fee back). If necessary, use a card match to break a tie for last place. 10
