IN MEMORY OF EDY LEVITT YOUR SUPPORT IS NEEDED NOW, MORE THAN EVER. Your participation in the 9th Annual Brunch and Bridge Tournament, Canasta or Mah Jongg games allows Maccabi USA to continue its unique athletic and cultural programs that make a difference in the lives of children and adults in your community and around the world. This year, in addition to our ACBL-sanctioned Bridge Tournament, we are offering both Canasta and Mah Jongg games. As usual, our Bridge Tournament will award Masters Points and as a special challenge, in our regular sections (200 points and above) you will have the opportunity to Beat the Pro. There will be a pair of Pros playing in each section to challenge your game, although their participation will not affect winners or points. All proceeds from the day s events will benefit Maccabi USA, a not-for-profit federally-recognized 501(c)(3) organization. Please join us for a great day of Brunch and Duplicate Bridge, Canasta or Mah Jongg, knowing that you are helping to change the lives of many. According to Rabbi Irwin Kula, 2009 USA Team Rabbi and president of the National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, The Maccabiah is the healthiest engagement with young people that I have seen in American Jewish Life. Edy was a dear friend, longtime supporter of Maccabi USA and was involved with our Bridge Tournament since its inception in 2005. The Levitt family s commitment to and support of Maccabi USA will continue through the involvement of her daughters, Valerie Levitt and Ondrea Schiciano, and her grandchildren, Rachel, Samantha, Logan and Hanna, as volunteers and supporters. This year s tournament is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend Edy. May her memory be for a blessing. ABOUT US This has been an exciting year at Maccabi USA. Team USA, the largest traveling sports delegation from the USA ever (1150 members), recently returned from the 19th World Maccabiah Games in Israel. The Maccabiah Games offer Jewish athletes the opportunity to compete in Israel with the best Jewish athletes in the world. Yet the Games are about more than just sport, they are the vehicle that attracts these athletes. They allow all participants to experience their culture and heritage in Israel. Athletes create lifelong friendships and an increased connection with the State of Israel. GRANDCHILDREN S HONOR ROLL Honor your grandchildren in conjunction with this year s Bridge Tournament. We are continuing our Grandchildren s Honor Roll which gives you the opportunity to have your grandchildren s names listed. The Honor Roll will be on display at the Tournament, and copies will be available for you to take home and share with your grandchildren. Each child s name will be listed alphabetically by last name in exchange for a donation of $18 per name. Please help us ensure that all qualified athletes are able to travel to Israel to compete in the next Maccabiah Games while honoring your grandchildren at the same time. There is space on the back of the response card to write your grandchildren s names.
0-199 POINT BRIDGE PLAYERS Please join us in a special section. Winners of this section will be awarded ACBL Points & Prizes. We guarantee you a good time in support of a great cause. If you are interested, please check the 0-199 box on the response card to join this section.
