Top three low net averages Norma Michaud 66.14 Prudence Hornberger 68.00 Becky Laliberte 68.14 Most improved Diane Herring Handicap 20.7 to 10.6 2. Unfinished business None 3. New business a. Proposal #1 Proposal: Change selection criteria for draw-outs to WMSGA tournaments to blind draw. Rationale: As an organization, one of our goals is to encourage growth in membership and attract younger players. It is unfair for members who have schedules that do not allow for regular play in WMSGA tournaments. Commitments such as working full-time jobs, family obligations as a full-time care-giver, or limited income make it extremely difficult to participate in the required number of tournaments needed to avoid being put in the pool to be drawn-out of playing in a tournament. To increase participation and make it more attractive, the draw-out process should be made fair and equitable across the ENTIRE playing field, not just those who haven t played the required number of events. In other words, don t penalize those that cannot play the needed number of tournaments we pay our dues just like everyone else! Respectfully submitted, Sunita Raynes Discussion included: should draw out be based on time registration received; should draw out be based on length of time in organization; not everyone is available to play same number of tournaments; if you are drawn out of tournament you will not be drawn out again for two years; you will be put on list in case a spot opens; players accumulate points per tournaments played Proposal was moved/seconded/voted. Proposal defeated. Page 6 of 8

b. Proposal #2 Proposal: I propose a change in the eligibility requirement for the JDMOC from three WMSGA weekly tournaments to two. Rationale: To increase participation. Respectfully submitted, Denise Hennessey Discussion included: why have requirements when field has not been filled; could consider reviewing again when that happens. Proposal was moved/seconded/voted. Proposal passed 2 opposed. c. Other proposals None 4. Presidents Remarks Micki Meggison, outgoing president, thanked club reps for all their efforts, congratulated Sherrie Thomas on successful first year as WMSGA s new administrative assistant, recognized and thanked Committee chairs and for everyone s efforts in making WMSGA successful. Thanked Vicki Lindquist for accepting position as President of WMSGA. She also thanked Helen Plourd for her encouragement and feedback. She asked members to consider how they can help the organization and give back to the organization. Vicki Lindquist thanked Micki for her service as President of the WMSGA and all members for their participation and support. Vicki noted that the position of President-Elect is now open and asked members to consider or to contact her with suggestions for a candidate. Vicki announced: WMSGA member Jane Diplock has been inducted into the Maine Golf Hall of Fame. WMSGA member Liz Coffin has been inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame. 5. Nominations President-elect no nominations or suggestions. Vicki noted that appointing a president elect now would give the person 2 years to learn and work with Executive Committee before taking over as WMSGA President. Page 7 of 8
