About the Gators Thank you for the opportunity to present the benefits available from a strategic partnership with the Altona Gators. This brochure contains valuable information about our program and the range of partnership opportunities available. The Altona Gators is the representative basketball club for the Altona Bay Basketball Association, participating in Basketball Victoria State Competitions. Our program is designed to develop local domestic junior and senior players at the elite level. Formed in 1990 the Altona Bay Basketball Association (ABBA) moved into "The Swamp" at the Altona Sports Centre in 1992. Since this time we have maintained a strong sporting presence in Altona and the broader Hobson s Bay Community. The Association runs both Junior & Senior Domestic Competitions as well as Representative teams playing as the "Altona Gators". Our representative programs, both Senior and Junior, are our opportunity to showcase the best of our Association, through our players, coaches, technical officials and volunteers, which are a culmination of the development programs in place. Over the past six seasons the Gators have experienced considerable growth and success in both the Senior and Junior programs. Both programs having won a number of championships during this time.
Our Members Strong junior growth has been ensured through our Gator Academy Development Program and Gator Clinics. Junior Gators participate at state level in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) currently comprising of over 300 members with 24 girls and boys teams all representing the Gators brand. We work very hard ensuring that our junior players are nurtured and encouraged to make the transition to senior basketball, and are extremely proud of our home grown players in our senior teams. Big V Basketball is the senior state representative competition in which our Senior teams compete. Our senior program comprises of a men s senior team and both men s and women s youth league teams. Collectively these teams will play state-wide across some 85 venues with a home and away series which equates to approximately 300 games alone played at the Altona stadium (excluding finals).

The Opportunity The Altona Sports Centre is the Home of the Altona Gators and combined with the Domestic club has a membership of over 2000 junior and senior players. The stadium has six courts running 7 days a week and is also home to Altona domestic and representative netball. Signage at the stadium is visible to the community continuously throughout the year. With over 200,000 annual visitors this venue provides maximin exposure to a variety of demographics and as central location for competitions frequency of your brand is guaranteed. The Gators website generates over 120,000 page impressions per year, in conjunction with our Facebook page provides ongoing communication with our members.

Pink Event 2010 was the inaugural Gator Pink Event breast cancer fundraiser. Our senior teams wear pink and play for the Hobson Bay Pink Event shield. The purpose of this event is to provide much needed funds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This now annual event has extended to our Junior teams who wear anything pink to training for the cause. Coaches, parents, boys and girls all join in the fun with our Senior players. Gators has raised over $6,000 to date for the NBCF. With your support we can exceed our previous years totals.
