Housekeeping If dancers need to be dropped off early prior to their class starting, please ensure that there are teachers on duty available to supervise them as our first priority is the safety of our dancers at all times. It is important that all students arrive on time for their lesson, if they miss any of the limbering and stretches, this increases their risk of injury. It also disrupts other classes running at the same time. If you are going to be late collecting dancers, please ensure they know and they remain inside the studio until you arrive. Again, our first priority is the safety of our dancers. Full TFD uniforms are encouraged to be worn at all times to all classes, rehearsals and on arrival to all performances. This consists of the TFD Uniform Top with plain black dance pants (shorts are acceptable in summer), black socks and black jazz shoes. TFD Jackets are allowed to be worn at the beginning of classes as the temperature drops. We ask that parents remain in the waiting area to avoid congestion in the studios, although all family members are welcome to use the toilet facilities. It is imperative to send your child with a drink bottle. We are trying to teach our students the importance of drinking water whilst exercising. Remember, there is no eating in the studios ONLY in the waiting area please. Also, please do not wear dance shoes in the car park or outside shoes in the studios as a lot of stones are being brought in from outside that causes damage to our flooring. Contacting Nicole If anyone has any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with me at your earliest conveniences soon so that we together, can resolve these, I am always available on 0401 866 811. New Classes for 2018 Hip Hop Excitingly, after many requests, we have introduced an Intermediate Hip Hop Class. This is held on Tuesdays, from 7.30 to 8.30 pm and is open to dancers from Grade 6 and up. Reikki Newman will be taking this class and as you all know, she is a very strong hip hop dancer. It is going to add a fabulous contrast to our Concert this year! Cheer Dance Split After the success of Cheer Dance for 2017, we have decided to split this class into two groups. Cheer Dance 1 and Cheer Dance 2. Age, ability and strength will be assessed to see which class fits your child best. This will be sorted in the first week of classes. Week 1 - all cheer students will start at 4.00 pm for assessment purposes and this will be a two hour class. Musical Theatre Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Hamish Briggs as he heads to Sydney to pursue his career as a Professional Singer, Dancer and Entertainer. We wish him all the very best for his future. We say a very BIG hello and welcome to Fiona Cooper (Fie) who is coming on board as our Musical Theatre Teacher in 2018. Fie is a Mum of two gorgeous children. She is a Presenter and can be heard on Mix 94.5 on the weekends. She is the Female Lead Vocalist with Perth Band, Hi-NRG. Cont d Fie also has a vast array of acting experience; She plays Raeleen in the Perth Sitcom 2 nd Hand currently in production and you will hear her voice in the Adventure World Commercial. She also played the Dutch Backpacker in the Wolf Creek Mini Series (episode 2). Fie is a Voice Coach at the WA Academy of Performing Arts where she graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcasting in 2006. We warmly welcome Fie in to our Time for Dance Family and look forward to all that she brings to our Musical Theatre Classes.
