OF Ender Inciarte went 2-for- 4 with two runs, a homer (#3) and two RBI...RH Julio Teheran (6 IP, 5 H, 2 R) recorded his first win of the season and RH Jim Johnson notched his second save. MAN OF FIRSTS: Braves leadoff hitter and center fielder Ender Inciarte recorded the first out in the history of SunTrust Park, when Manuel Margot flew out on the game s first pitch...inciarte then recorded the park s first base hit with an infield single in the bottom of the first, and scored the first run on Nick Markakis two-run double...inciarte capped his night with a homer in the sixth inning -- also a SunTrust first. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, among the 30 stadiums currently in use, there is only one other ballpark in which the first regular-season home run there was hit by a team s leadoff hitter...in the first Mets game played at Citi Field on April 13, 2009, Padres leadoff hitter Jody Gerut hit the third pitch of the game by Mets starter Mike Pelfrey into the stands to become the first player in that ballpark s history to notch a hit, run and home run. TONIGHT S GAME: Tonight s contest is the second game of a four-game set between the Braves and Padres and is the second game of a seven-game homestand for Atlanta...This is the second of seven meetings between the Braves and Padres this season... Following this series the Braves will play host to the Washington Nationals for three games, Tuesday- Thursday. The Braves have won back-to-back games for the first time this season. Atlanta went 4-2 against the Padres last season, including 3-0 at Atlanta. The Braves are 344-270 against the Padres all-time, including 183-122 at Atlanta. This marked the third time the Braves played their home opener against the Padres...The others were in 1983 (W, 4-2) and 1985 (L, 7-3). The Braves went 2-6 on their season-opening eightgame road trip to the New York Mets (1-2), Pittsburgh (0-3) and Miami (1-1). The Braves will make their lone visit to Petco Park for a three-game series June 27-29. 52ND SEASON IN ATLANTA: The Braves are in their 142nd season of play in the National League and their 52nd season in Atlanta...The Braves were in Boston for 77 years (1876-1952), in Milwaukee for 13 years (1953-1965) and have been in Atlanta since 1966. ENDER S ON A ROLL: CF Ender Inciarte went just 4-for-28 (.143) in the first six games of the season, but he has gone 5-for-13 (.462) in the last three games, with four runs scored, three home runs and five RBI...Inciarte posted his second career multi-homer game Wednesday night at MIA. Ender Inciarte clubbed three home runs in 578 plate appearances last season...he already has three homers in 42 PAs this season. MARKAKIS COMES THROUGH: OF Nick Markakis has hit safely in each of the last eight games, going 10-for-29 (.345) in that stretch...the only game he failed to collect a hit was the season opener (0-for- 4)...Markakis drove in the first two runs in SunTrust Park s history with a two-run double last night in the first inning. Markakis is one hit shy of 1,900 for his career and is only five doubles shy of 400...Only seven active players have collected 400 or more career doubles. KEMP PLACED ON D.L.: OF Matt Kemp left the Braves game at PIT on April 7 due to right hamstring tightness and Tuesday (4/11) he was placed on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to 4/8)...Kemp is eligible to return to action on Tuesday, April 18. Kemp has missed the last four games and is still tied for eighth in the NL with six extra-base hits...his 1.225 slugging pct. would lead the majors if he had enough plate appearances to qualify. ABOUT THE SCHEDULE: The Braves play just seven home games in the month of April...Atlanta plays host to 16 home games in May and 17 in June before a sparse July, with just eight home contests...the Braves will have 17 home games in August and 16 in September.
