For the second year in a row we have achieved almost 200 members. To me this shows to everyone that HMM is committed to having great facilities and events for its members. Members who come out and enjoy flying and the family atmosphere. We are trying to do the best we can for the club and its members to provide a safe and enjoyable place to fly. HEMET MODEL MASTERS BOARD MEETING Minutes for January 2, 2017 Meeting called to order by President Mario Muniz at 6:56 pm. Board members present; Mario Muniz, Richard Lawrence, Stewart Robinson, Ralph Torres, Dick Hanke, Jeff Barker, Mark Lewis, Lawrence Vasquez and Scott Boersma. President Mario Muniz started with projects we need to complete that were proposed in 2016. The tables at the Lakeview/Davis field, signage and the possibility of laying down some gravel at the entrance to the field to help getting in and out after heavy rains. The area where the heli/quadcopter pad at the main field, along with one shade structure. We also need to finish cutting down, spraying and dragging the main field. We need to wait a bit until the weather improves. We will be having two IMAC events this year, one in May and the Regionals will be held at HMM sometime late Nov early Dec. We will be looking into setting up all the events for the club and perhaps a new one or two. Discussion was brought up about one of the members of the club that is dissatisfied with the club and the membership. He feels that the club is an unfriendly one and will not be rejoining the club for 2017. However because he likes the facilities he feels that he can return as a guest at least three times and more illegally if he desires. The Board has sent a notice to this member that he will not be allowed to use the club facilities as an ex-member/guest. Also, the Board has decided that the gate code will be changed every Feb 1. The Board decided to extend a Grace Period for renewing members until Jan 31 of each year, consideration for holiday expenses, along with AMA renewals and the club is difficult for some of our members.. After Jan 31 an expired membership will be treated as a New Member and will have to pay the Initiation again. The new gate code will be sent to all current members and we ask that you do not share this with anyone. President Mario Muniz suggested that John Rigby be given Snow Bird Status, since he is rarely in town and Muir Loftus paid his dues for 2017 but will not be coming down this year from Canada, so his membership will be frozen and valid for next year. All board members agreed to implement the suggestions. President Mario Muniz let new Vice-President for 2017 Scott Boersma know that he needs to take a copy of the Board Minutes to the Bank of Hemet where the club has their accounts and sign a new signature card followed by the other three Executive Board members. The projection for any repairs we need to make on the runway is set for 2018. We will be considering improvements that will last for years. A list of members who have not renewed their AMA will be posted at the fields. No one is allowed to fly at our facilities without a current AMA. No Exceptions!! Lastly we would like to thank Lawrence Vasquez who has decided to donate the grill we have been using over the last few months. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM Members Present 9 Minutes submitted by Mario Muniz
HEMET MODEL MASTERS GENERAL MEETING Minutes for "December 17, 2016" Meeting called to order by President Mario D Muniz 9:25 am. Treasurer Stewart Robinson gave the Treasurer s Report. Motion to accept by Lawrence Vasquez and seconded by Dick Hanke, voted and approved by all members present. President Mario Muniz called for a motion to approve last months minutes as published in the newsletter. Motion to accept by Jeff Barker and seconded by Vincent Michael, voted and approved by all members present. Old business; The need to repair small tractor was brought up by Mario Muniz and Richard Lawrence and he will look into taking care of it. We also spoke about the need to complete the projects at the Lakeview/Davis field, referencing the tables that need to be built and the disposal of the large wood wire spools. We also need to clear the rest of the weeds, then drag and spray the field to try and prevent future growth. President Mario Muniz spoke to the members present and gave them an update on the display that we had at the Hemet Annual Christmas Parade. A big thanks goes out to Art Chavez and Vincent Michael for their help. If not for them we would have had one aircraft at the display. It is very disappointing to always have the same few individuals help out at these events. We are enjoying facilities that belong to the City of Hemet and we can t give up four or five hours to help out at these events is embarrassing in my opinion. If we don t show some appreciation to the City for what they provide free of charge, then when the day arrives for them to kick us out what will you have to respond with as far as giving back to the community. They don t ask for anything, be grateful and help out when ever you can. Meeting adjourned at 10:17 am Minutes submitted by Mario Muniz Total Attendance 18 persons
