RULES & REGULATIONS MANAGEMENT The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or arising out of an incident to the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these Rules/Regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management, their decision to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves the right to limit entries (per GR 915), refuse (per GR 914), accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition of entries, and cancel award prizes, without claim for damages; to change any course, to add a dotted line, to cancel or combine any classes, or to reschedule classes, after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or judges; to change specifications in jumper classes in order to facilitate the time schedule or as competition warrants, or make any changes management deems is in the best interests of the show and as allowed by USEF. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, its members, directors and employees, sponsoring entities, and facility harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. STALL FEES Stall fees are $65.00 each. Reservations are accepted on a first pay, first serve basis. Stalls will not be reserved without a check! Please call early. Non-Showing horses will be charged an additional $40.00. Stabling consists of 10x10 stalls with stall gates. First bedding is not provided, but shavings are available upon request ($8/bag). HORSE SHOWING OUT OF TRAILERS There will be a $30 per day grounds fee for horses showing out of trailers. CAMPERS Camper Fee $60.00 per show. Electric and Water hook up. Limited availablity. Call Sari Clapperton to reserve a space 502-314-3411 ENTRIES Entries close ONE WEEK BEFORE SHOW. You will be charged for stall cancellations after this time. There will be a $25.00 Post Entry Fee per entry after this time if the exhibitor has not already opened an entry. No entries will be taken over the phone. Any trainer or exhibitor who cancels all of their stalls will be charged for them regardless of the date. All entry forms must be signed and accompanied by remittance for all fees. Makes checks payable to WOODBINE FARMS LLC. Entry Fees will be refunded only upon presentation of a veterinarian s certificate to the secretary. Stall fees are nonrefundable under any circumstances. TRAINERS: Please send open Barn Check to cover any outstanding Sunday balances. There will be a service fee of $30 for any non-negotiable checks. ADDS/SCRRATCHES All adds and scratches must be done with the secretary, to avoid a ridden not entered (RNE) fee of $5 per class. Adding or scratching with the starter is not sufficent. PRIZE MONEY All prize money will be deducted from entries. Prize Money exceeding entry fees will be mailed to the owner of record unless otherwise directed within 30 days. 6
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR All riders must wear an ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet while mounted anywhere on the show grounds (Professionals included). Any rider violating this rule will be immediately prohibited from further riding until the headgear is properly in place. WOODBINE FARM & SARI CLAPPERTON make no representation or warranty, expressed or implied, about any protective headgear, and cautions riders that serious injury may result despite wearing protective headgear as all equestrian sports involve and intrinsic element of risk. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current Federation Rule Book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. SCHOOLING Schooling will be in the show rings after 12:00 P.M. on Friday and until ½ hour prior to commencement the days of the show. Management reserves the right to limit schooling in the show rings the morning of the show as needed. DOTTED LINE In some classes the area of the courtesy circle may be restricted by a mandatory line. This line will be indicated on the course diagram and physically in the ring. DOGS All DOGS must be leashed. Dogs must be leashed at ALL TIMES while on the show grounds, (including hand held dogs). All dogs must be in your tack room or on a leash. No dogs will be allowed in any schooling area or show ring or in the clubhouse. This means BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the show. SHARPS Competition Management is responsible for placing Sharps containers in convenient locations on competition grounds and replacing them when full. Competition Management may fine any individual up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. RINGS All weather footing Hunter Ring: 250 x 175 Jumper Ring: 250 x 150 Upper Ring: 225 x 100 Schooling Ring: 225 x 100 SHOW CHAMPIONSHIPS Championships offered in all hunter and jumper divisions, walk-trot, walk trot poles and walk trot canter. 3 entries must compete for championships to be awarded. CIRCUIT CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION Riders must compete in the same division at 3 of 5 shows to be eligible for the circuit awards. Awards to be presented at the conclusion of the September Show. Champion and reserve awarded in each hunter, jumper and equitation division. $1000 High Point Hunter-To be awarded to the horse with the most points in any two hunter divisions 2 and above. Additionally, the Woodbine hunter classic will count for double bonus points. Classes must have at least 3 entries to count for points. $1000 High Point Jumper- To be awarded to the horse with the most points in any two jumper divisions. Classes must have 3 entries to count for points. $1000 High Point Trainer- awarded by combining all points earned by all horses under the direction of the trainer. All classes which count toward championships will be included in point tabulation. 7
CLASS SPECIFICATIONS: All classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted. Hunter Divisions: Entry Fee: $18 per class Course will simulate fences found in the Hunting Field such as, brush wall, in-out oxer, post and rails, aiken and panels. To be judged on performance and soundness, manners and way of going. Extreme speed will be penalized. All Under Saddle Classes to be shown at a Walk, Trot & Canter both ways in the ring, light contact with the horse s mouth is required. Horses should be obedient, alert, responsive and move freely. They should not be eliminated for slight errors Martingales are not permitted in Under Saddle classes. Championships in each section will be awarded convenient to the last class in each section. Classes with less than 3 entries may be combined. WALK TROT Riders in their 1 st year of showing. May cross enter into W-T-C and poles only. 300-301-302-303 Walk Trot WALK TROT CANTER Open to riders who have never shown over fences. Riders may cross enter into pole piles and crossrails. 304-305-306-307 W-T-C POLES Open to very beginner riders of any age. Multiple riders will be allowed on the same horse. Course to consist of poles on the ground. Riders may only cross enter into WT/ WTC and Crossrails. 308-309-310-311 Walk Trot Poles CROSSRAILS HUNTER Open to very beginner Junior and Adult riders in their first year over fences of any height. Trotting will not be penalized. May choose to cross enter into the Poles division OR the Short Stirrup/ Beginner Division.
