For competing entries there is no fee to scratch a competition/class as long as notification has been made in the show office the day prior to the scratched competition/class. Should management have to cancel competitions/classes/ divisions that cannot be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or any other emergency or unforeseen situation there are no refunds on entry and stall fees and of any other fees of any kind. Competitors must appear in order of the posted order of go. All competitors will compete in the first round over the posted course of at least eight fences up to 3 3 in height with 3 5 options. The first round will be judged on performance, hunter pace, jumping style, quality and substance, and movement. The course may include up to four option fences. Once the judge s score is given, one point will be added for each high option fence jumped. At the conclusion of the first round, the top 10 riders will be invited back for a pick-yourline handy round. Posted at the back gate and available in the office, at least one hour in advance of the start of the class, will be the course indicating available fences for the pickyour-line portion. Riders must determine a course of six to ten fences, selecting the handy elements that they feel will best demonstrate the strengths of their horse. The second round will be judged on performance, hunter-pace, jumping-style, quality and substance, and movement. The course may include up to four option fences. Once the judge s score is given, one point will be added for each high option fence jumped. The combined score from round one and round two will determine overall score and placement in the class. PRHP Rules All entries must be postmarked by April 19, 2018, with all required numbers and signatures. Jumping order - Orders of go will be established by the back gate personnel. Management and show staff may change the order at any time. Ties - In the event of a tie, both will be awarded the placing tied for. Championships - Champion and Reserve Champion will be determined by those with the highest number of points. Points are assigned as follows: 1st - 10, 2nd - 6, 3rd - 4, 4th - 2, 5th - 1. The nomination fee for all Hunter classes with prize money is $50. The nomination fee for all Jumper classes with prize money is $75. For all returned or bounced checks, there will be a $50 fee. Stalls onsite are 12 x 12 with Dutch doors. Each stall has access to electricity and there are four water spickets in each stall aisle. The show and warm up arenas measure as follows: > L.D. Hayes Grand Prix Arena: 190 x 260 > Fairway Hunter Field: 175 x 250 > Oak Grove Arena: 140 x 255 > JW Arena: 130 x 220 > Warm Up Arenas #1 & #2: 140 x 230 > Warm Up Arena #3: 73 x 230 All arenas at the Paso Robles Horse Park contain premier GGT Footing. The grass on the main turf field is a special hybrid Bermuda called GN-1, specifically used for athletic purposes. Statement of Health/Vaccinations: Per GR845 Equine Vaccination Rule: At Federation licensed competitions, horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by documentation of Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations within six months prior to entering the stables. Horses not in compliance with this rule may be required to leave the competition grounds upon request by Competition Management. Competitors may be asked to provide proof of vaccination upon check-in. All dogs at the Paso Robles Horse Park must be on a leash or tied at all times. There will be a $50 penalty for any dogs off-leash. Judging Criteria: To be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise stated. Awards: Trophy to first, Ribbons through 12th place and prize money divided as follows: 30%, 22%, 15%, 10%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 5%. Prize money will be awarded at time of check-out and deducted from entries or via mail within 30 days of the show. If an awards ceremony is conducted, all ribbon winners required to attend and participate. Schooling: The day prior to the start of the horse show, ticketed schooling with assigned times will take place in all competition rings @ $20/ticket. A schedule will be posted noting the height changes. Competitor numbers must be worn during schooling. Additional hunter warm-up classes have been included in the schedule during competition days. No poling or offsets allowed. Handy Hunter: For all Hunter Sections & Divisions one class may feature a handy course at the course designer s discretion. 11

Rules and Regulations EVERY CLASS OFFERED HEREIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT USEF RULE BOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the show management whose decision shall be final. Every horse entered for competition will comply with the rules of the horse show management, but management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold this horse show and the officials and employees of the show blameless for any loss or accident to his/her horse, employees, equipment, which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise. The management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel any entries, disqualify any riders or exhibitors, prohibit entries, and cancel award prizes without claims for damages; to cancel or combine unfilled classes, or to reschedule classes after due notice to exhibitors; to change rings or rotate judges. Exhibitors are notified that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the judges or officials, on the part of the owner, manager, rider, or groom shall disqualify the horse, and the owner shall forfeit his entry fee and other fees. Show management reserves to itself the power to prohibit any person from attending or showing a horse in the ring and to remove any groom or horse from the show without being liable for compensation. In accordance with the 1989 Federal Waste Tracking Act, which restricts the disposal of medical waste, bio-hazardous medical waste containers will be provided in the stable area. All exhibitors and their agents are responsible for the proper disposal of this waste. No person will be allowed in the show ring during the time of judging except the exhibitor and those having official or requested duties to perform. It is the tradition of the show that riders be correctly attired for the class in question, that attendants be neatly dressed and the horses properly presented. Management may in its discretion bar any person from entering the ring if not suitable presented to appear before an audience. 12

Membership Statement Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR218) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes. Motorized Vehicle Statement Minors who do not have a valid driver s license, which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside, will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual(s) who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. 13

About the Park Foundation Our Mission The Foundation is dedicated to creating opportunity within the community to support relevance of the horse in today s world and its unique ability to enhance education, health and quality of life, particularly for the handicapped and underprivileged. Ways We re Working to Support Our Mission Jack s Helping Hand: The Park Foundation is proud of our partnership with Jack s Helping Hand. Funds raised through the Park Foundation go directly towards supporting their equestrian therapy facility being built at the new Imagination Park in Nipomo. Schooling Shows: Schooling shows hosted at the Paso Robles Horse Park are designed to provide local hunter/jumper trainers and rider access to the top-of-the-line facility in an approachable, affordable and fun environment. These shows also create a platform for additional fundraising through collaboration with competitors to grow our impact with partner non-profit organizations. Lucy Learns to Fly: A children s book that tells the tale of a visually impaired filly that learns how to walk, run and jump. Books are offered for sale in the Horse Show office and proceeds are donated to the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Books may also be purchased at any time by contacting info@pasorobleshorsepark.com. Adirondack Chairs: At events hosted at the Paso Robles Horse Park, spectators are encouraged to grab a colorful adirondack chair to sit in while they take in the excitement.
