The University of Alabama in Huntsville Annual Baseball Instructional Fall League / Camp Our Purpose: The UAH Instructional League offers players the chance to receive intense instruction while benefiting from a low player to coach ratio. The league is designed to help players work on specific skills and strengthen their overall game. The UAH Fall Instructional League is designed to give local high school baseball players the opportunity to keep playing during the off-season and improve their skill level. As always we are looking for ways to improve this league and keep the players in this league motivated. Every year we try to make this better for the players, because the improvement of the players is the main purpose of this league. This year we will add 4 more games to the league in hopes of helping the overall development. This year we are introducing several new phases to our fall league program New Phases 1. This fall every team will play 8 games. 2. Every Team will get 3 instructional practices that will last 1 hour. 3. At the end of the fall, the two teams with the best record will play a championship game. 4. We will keep advanced stats Example (ERA, AVG, OBP, ETC ) 5. Each player will receive a copy of their individual stats at the conclusion of the fall season. 6. Also under AHSAA rules now, all freshman from one school can play on the same team. We will be in contact with the coaches and if they want their freshman to play together, this could be a great thing. We are hoping that we may simply have some freshman teams play in the league and of course sprinkle of few others with them if need be. WE URGE YOU TO TAKE ADAVANTAGE OF THIS. 7. The league will be freshman through seniors 8. UAH baseball staff will be doing the coaching and instructing players during the games. We are hoping that this will help the players learn more and be more engaged if we are selves on the field. 9. THE one thing that we ask is that you please let us know earlier in the day if you cannot attend. If you cannot attend your game or practice, we can make other plans. It is very hard to adjust the pitching or catching rotation 10 minutes before game time. Please let us know by 12:00 the day of the game and that should give us plenty of time to make the correct changes. 10. This year we will also include video analysis of anyone wishing to have it done for an extra fee. That fee will be $250 for hitting and $250 for pitching. Too include both hitting and pitching the fee will be $240.00. We will video you twice and set the player down and go over the video and give them a evaluation chart explaining what they can do to correct this. This year we will play a 8 game schedule. Each team will have 3 instructional practices at some point. Our league fee this year is $ 200.00, unless you want video analysis, see above! Pre-Registering for the UAH Fall League begins now and is strongly encouraged. The last day to register is September 6, 2017. All games will be made up, unless the season runs into November and the weather gets cold. The league will officially start September 11 th and conclude in October. Games will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. NO games will be played on Friday or Saturday. Sunday would be a possible make-up day or a possible practice day. I am sure we will have rainouts (hopefully not) plus we may have more teams than 4. This can be a very good fall league if the communication is good between all parties involved. Weather can obviously affect games and practices. We will go all the way to November 1 to make games or practice up so that everyone will get their money worth. At that time if we are a short, the season will be concluded with no refund. We are hoping that it does not come to that and we certainly do not think it will.
