August 1, 2018 The Riverside Golf Association would like to welcome you to the 2018 RGA Member- Guest. We look forward to an entertaining and fun-filled weekend with our fellow members and guests. We would like to thank all of the members who signed up and the sponsors who have donated to this event. In this packet you will find information regarding the teams, flights, schedule of events, formats, and extra games that will be going on throughout the weekend. Schedule of Events: Friday, August 3 rd Check-In prior to Match 1 (2:00 3:15 PM) Purchase Raffle Tickets Match 1 9 Holes; 3:30 PM Shotgun When making the turn, #9 to #1 or #18 to #10, make sure to stop at the putting green for the putting contest. Sausage/Hot Dog/Hamburger Station 6:30 (following round) Saturday, August 4 th Check-In prior to Match 2 (11:30 AM 12:45 PM) Purchase 50/50 & Raffle Tickets Match 2 9 Holes; 1:00 PM Shotgun Match 3 9 Holes; 3:30 PM Shotgun When making the turn, #9 to #1 or #18 to #10, make sure to stop at the putting green for the putting contest. Putt Off The 5 qualifiers from Friday and 5 from Saturday. (Immediately following conclusion of play and before dinner). Dinner served at conclusion of play (6:30 PM 7:00 PM) Sunday, August 5 th Check-In prior to Match 4 (7:00 AM 8:15 AM) Match 4 9 Holes; 8:30 AM Shotgun Match 5 9 Holes; 11:30 AM Shotgun Breakfast available beginning at 7:00 AM (Riverside Grille) Prizes will be awarded at conclusion of play Raffles will be drawn while on the course. Winners will be listed in pro-shop. Playoff for overall winner (flight winners + wild card) Important Notes: Any practice round cost is not included in entry fee Carts are included for all matches (but not practice round) *Alcohol purchased off premises is not permitted by law* *No coolers are allowed on the golf course* *The beer cart will be on the course and is cash only*
Extra Games: Putting Contest Will take place on the practice green during play Friday & Saturday. We will take 5 qualifiers from Friday and 5 from Saturday to compete in a Putt Off Saturday night. Half of the proceeds will go to the scholarship fund and the other half goes to the winner. *There is no limit on the amount of entries, but you can only qualify once* Hit the Green Hole #13. Enter a chance to win a free 2019 Member Guest entry Fee. Pay $5 and hit the green, you will gain a raffle ticket to the drawing. Pay $10 and you are automatically entered in the drawing. Plus if you hit the green, you gain a 2 nd entry to the raffle. Drawing will take place at the conclusion of play on Sunday. Hole In One Contest On holes #3 & #6, Saturday only, we will be having a hole in one contest. 50/50 Drawing On Saturday we will be having a 50/50 drawing. This will only be happening on Saturday so don t forget to buy your tickets to support the scholarship fund. Pro Shop Action The pro shop will be running the following action both days; $20 per team - 2 Person Best Ball (Member & Guest) - Individual (Gross & Net) (Flighted) - Best 3 of 4 Stableford Blind Draw (Each Member-Guest team will be drawn with another Member-Guest Team) - $20 per team gets you in all 3 games per day. Tournament Format: 6 Flights will be determined by combined handicap index. Each flight will contain 6 teams of two. There will be five 9-hole matches. Each 9-hole match will be net match play. Handicaps will be 90% off the low handicap player in each match. Each team will play against every other team in its flight. Scoring for 9-Hole Matches: Each match is worth 9 points. Flight winners will be the teams with the highest point total for the five matches. 1 Point for winning a hole ½ Point for tying a hole 0 Point for loss of hole
Low Net Score Wins Hole In the event of a tie for flight winners, we will use three tie breaking methods to decide the winner: 1 st Tie Break Head to Head point total 2 nd Tie Break last 9 holes go back, 9 to 1, 18 to 10, within that match 3 rd Tie Break Putt/Chip Off Championship Shootout: Each flight winner at the end of 45 holes will advance to a playoff to determine the overall champion Where: Holes 18, 8, 9 (If tied, play 8 and 9 again) Format: Alternate Shot, net. Each team will determine who will tee off and players will alternate shots until the ball is holed. Whoever didn t tee off on the first hole will tee off on the next. Tees: Men will play the White Tees / Ladies play Green Tees Scoring: The lowest net scores will advance to the 2 nd hole and so on. In the event that only one team has the lowest score on the first hole, they will be declared the overall champion. Handicap Strokes awarded for the playoff by the following: Flights 1-3 0 Strokes Flights 4-6 1 Stroke Awards and Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for the Overall Tournament Champions, Flight Winners, 2 nd Place in each flight and Closest to the Pins each day (in the form of pro shop credits).
