1987.109 MS 29 Arizona Women s Hall of Fame Records 2 HISTORICAL NOTE Established by the Arizona Women s Commission in 1981, the Arizona Women s Hall of Fame is under the joint sponsorship of the Arizona Historical Society and the Arizona Department of Library, Archives and Public Records. Each year nominations submitted from across the state are reviewed by a Selection Committee, a learned and impartial body. Recommendations for induction to the Arizona Women s Hall of Fame are then received by the Steering Committee which oversees the annual meeting and public educational programs. Information for the above paragraph was obtained from the foreword in the records donated by Andy Masich and written on October19,1985. COLLECTION DESCRIPTION The Arizona Women s Hall of Fame Records consists of 42 folders in two boxes. Eight photos were removed and separately filed in the photo collection. There is a foreword written by the donor and a folder with a script for a T.V. program dated 1984. There are 28 biographies of the Arizona Women included but none for Polly Hicks Brown nor for Mollie Fly. There are some programs, invitations, correspondence, press releases, newspaper clippings on Margaret Sanger, and minutes of meetings. SERIES DESCRIPTION The Arizona Women's Hall of Fame Records are arranged in four series: Series 1. Inductees, 1980-1986, 7 inches, 30 folders. This series contains biographies and other information of the women who were inducted in the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame in alphabetical order. Series 2. Administration, 1981-1989, 2 1/2 inches, 10 folders. This series consists of correspondence, minutes, nominee forms, press releases, programs and invitations, and a script for a television program. Series 3. Contact Sheets, 1989, 1/4 inch, 1 folder. This series consists of contact sheets from 35mm film of a luncheon. Series 4. Newspaper Clippings, 1991, 1/4 inch, 1 folder. This series consists of clippings about Margaret Sanger.
