Hiking, Camping and Shooting s Shooting Checklist (as of 21 February 2017) In many ways Shooting is much more personal than Hiking and Camping. People have very specific preferences about the type, caliber and brand of firearms they like to shoot. Consequently there are two types of shooting gear: 1) the common general areas (e.g. safety items, targets, cleaning supplies, storage, etc.,) and 2) the specific firearms that people prefer (.22 caliber, 9mm, 5.56mm,.223 caliber and 12 gauge) to shoot. Because of this split much of the information about shooting gear is applicable to everyone. But some specific gear only applies to people that shoot certain types/calibers/brands of firearms. When shooting - don't try to take everything to the range. Take only what you really need for the firearms you plan on shooting that day.
