Competition Competition practices will begin in late November following the end of football season. Saturday practices with a choreographer will be held to learn the routine Competitions will be January - March Competition is an added time commitment

Tryouts (cont d) Tryouts will take place in the Cheer Gym starting at 4:30pm Varsity will try out first, then JV, then Freshman Cheerleaders will draw numbers on Thursday & compete in that order Cheerleaders can warm up in the SHS Dance Gym Two mats will be available for tumbling and jumps A speaker will be available to practice the dance Cheerleaders will be escorted from the Dance Gym to the Cheer Gym After your cheerleader tries out, he/she will be escorted to the SHS Cafeteria He/She MUST remain in the cafeteria until ALL of the tryouts are finished in the event that callbacks are necessary Snacks will be provided by the SHS Cheer Booster Club
Tryout Results Tryout are judged by judges who are not affiliated with Saginaw High School or Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Tryout scores are tallied by the assistant principal Cheer coaches are not permitted in the tryout area Squad Minimum Score Required Varsity 50 Junior Varsity 40 Freshman 40
