At this age, the child explores the different ways in which they can move their body. They start to learn the fundamental movements of dance. GIRLS - PINK BALLET & BLACK TAP SHOES / BOYS - BLACK BALLET AND BLACK TAP SHOES ARE REQUIRED BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE DANCE - At this level, the dancer is introduced to the professional atmosphere of a dance class, while still having fun. DANCER S DREAMS DANCE STUDIO RULES & REGULATIONS TUITION: Dancer s Dreams tuition is based on a yearly fee, but is to be paid in 9 equal monthly payments and is due on the first dance day of each month. All holidays and scheduled studio closings are not included in your tuition payments. (Excluding cancellations for inclement weather.) If your student is out for an extended period of time, you are still responsible for tuition. We are holding a slot for your dancer during this absence. STUDENT WITHDRAWAL: Dancer s Dreams must be notified in writing of a students withdrawal from class. A slot will be held for your student(s) and you are responsible for tuition until written notification is received of withdrawal. CLASS ABSENCES: If a student misses a class, is absent for any reason, or the studio is closed due to inclement weather, you are welcome to attend another class within (1) one month from the date missed. Tuition is not refunded/credited for those classes. If your student is out for an extended period of time, you are still responsible for tuition. We are holding a slot for your dancer during this absence. Should a student miss more than 5 (five) classes they may be moved to a lower level. Once recital dances are started, if a student misses more than 2 (two) consecutive classes, they will not be choreographed into that section of the dance. DANCE CLASS ATTIRE: FEMALES: Solid color leotard and tights, appropriate shoes, hair is to be secured off face, no large or dangling jewelry, no baggy clothing. MALES: Solid color dance pants or shorts and t-shirt, appropriate shoes, no baggy clothing. HIP HOP - DO NOT wear your regular street shoes for class, use a pair designated for dance class. Please adhere to the attire listed above. We know it is fun to wear costumes to dance class, but save those for practice at home. Part of dance training is discipline, and we need your help to make sure the students come to class in proper attire. Also, it is not fair for the students who do adhere to the dress code to see us let the children who do not adhere participate in class. INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of inclement weather, please call the studio at 410-360-8318 or go to the website DancersDreamsInc.com. Dancer s Dreams does not follow A.A.Co. Public School closings. A message will be left on the answering machine stating our decision. Call after 8:00 AM for morning classes and after 2:30 PM for evening classes. RECITAL COSTUME PAYMENT: Costume payment for the 2016 2017 dance year are as follows: $65.00 per costume if paid by October 31, 2016. After this date, the payment will be $80.00 (NO EXCEPTIONS). All costume payments must be paid by November 05, 2016 or a costume will not be purchased for the student. CLASS PARTICIPATION: Dancers are expected to arrive at the dance studio on time for class, in appropriate dance attire, with a positive attitude and desire to learn. Students are expected to remain in the classroom for the entire class time, no running in and out. We ask that if a student is going to be absent from a class that you let the studio know, this is extremely important when students begin practicing their recital dances. Our teachers spend a lot of time in the preparation and choreography of recital dances and it is extremely important for all students to be in class for practice. DANCER S DREAMS EXPECTS RESPECT FROM THE STUDENT TOWARDS OTHER STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND THEMSELVES.
