Guangxi, China 79.00 THE TOURNAMENT FIELD Auburn will face a challenging tournament field at the Auburn University Club as nine of the 24 teams are ranked in the top 25 of either the GolfWorld/NGCA Coaches Poll, the GolfWeek Ratings or the GolfStat Rankings. Teams ranked in the top 25 are No. 2/2/2 Alabama, No. 6/6/5 Arkansas, No. 7/7/8 UCLA, No. 11/15/11 North Carolina, No. 15/14/13 Virginia, No. 16/16/17 Oklahoma State, No. 19/19/20 Tulane, No. 23/17/23 Texas and No. 26/23/29 Northwestern. Other teams appearing in the top 50 of the GolfWeek/GolfStat rankings are: Notre Dame (30/26), Tennessee (31/31), Kentucky (32/35), Texas State (38/38), Auburn (39/42), Penn State (43/47), Central Florida (--/44), Ole Miss (49/55) and East Carolina (--/50). Auburn is one of six SEC teams in the tournament field. WHAT S AT STAKE The top eight teams and top two individuals (not on advancing teams) will earn a spot in the NCAA Championship, slated for May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga. AGAINST THE FIELD THIS SEASON Auburn has faced 14 of the 24 institutions in tournaments this season, compiling a 12-32 mark. The Tigers own.500 or better records against five teams. Auburn s record against NCAA East Regional teams this season: Alabama (1-6), Arkansas (0-6), Kentucky (0-3), Mississippi (2-1), North Carolina (2-3), Northwestern (0-1), Oklahoma State (0-1), Penn State (1-0), Tennessee (3-2), Texas (0-2), Tulane (1-1), Central Florida (2-1), UCLA (1-2) and Virginia (2-3). AN SEC AFFAIR Thirteen of the 14 SEC teams advanced to the NCAA Regional Championships with the East Region getting the most at six. Two teams (Florida and Mississippi State) are in the Central while five (Vanderbilt, Georgia, Texas A&M, LSU and South Carolina) are in the West. The Central Regional is being played at the OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., while the West Regional is at the Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif.

Teams that won their league title this year are Alabama (SEC), Oklahoma State (Big 12), Tulane (Conference USA), Notre Dame (Big East), Northwestern (Big Ten), Florida International (Sun Belt), ETSU (Atlantic Sun), UT-Chattanooga (Southern), James Madison (CAA), Eastern Kentucky (OVC) and Alabama State (SWAC). THE COURSE The Auburn University Club is a par-72, 18-hole course located in Auburn, Ala. Bill Bergin designed the course, surrounding Yarbrough Lake and bordered by Aaugahatchee Creek, in 1999. The course will play at 6,259 yards for the tournament. THE WEATHER Weather is expected to be nice and warm throughout most of the tournament with a chance of rain. Thurdsay is predicted for a high of 83, low of 62 and a 10% chance of rain. Friday should have a high of 82, low of 64 with a 10% chance of rain. Saturday s final round is expected to see a high of 81, low of 65 with a 60% chance of rain. SANZ NAMED ALL-SEC Auburn junior Marta Sanz was named to the All-SEC Second Team, the league announced Monday. It marks the second year in a row for the Madrid, Spain native to earn All-SEC honors. Sanz leads the team in stroke average with a 74.77. She has three top-10 finishes and a top-five on the season. IN THE RANKINGS Auburn enters the NCAA East Regional at No. 30 in the GolfWeek Ratings and No. 42 in the GolfStat Rankings. Two players are in the top 100 of the GolfWeek Rankings. Marta Sanz is No. 79, and Victoria Trapani is No. 91. AUBURN AT NCAA REGIONAL Auburn is in its 18th consecutive NCAA Regional and 20th overall. The Tigers have claimed one NCAA Regional title in 2005, and Diana Ramage received the individual title the same year. Of those 18 Regional appearances, Auburn has advanced to the NCAA Championships 13 times. Evans has led her team to a Regional Championship in 2005, two runner-up finishes and nine top-five finishes. AT THE AU CLUB This will be Auburn s second post-season appearance at the AU Club after hosting the SEC Championship in 2011. Auburn led wire-to-wire, winning the tournament with an even-par 864. Current Tigers Marta Sanz and Carlie Yadloczky were members of that team.

AROUND THE SEC Marta Sanz enters the NCAA East Regional Championship as the No. 21-ranked golfer in the conference, by stroke average, with her 74.77. Sanz is one of three Auburn golfers ranked in the top 35, followed by Victoria Trapani (74.83) at 22nd and Carlie Yadloczky (75.62) at 34th. Also ranked are Diana Fernandez (77.12) at 62nd and Jamie Yun (79.56) at 79th. Alabama s Stephanie Meadow (71.50) is the only SEC player averaging a sub-par round. LEADERSHIP ACROSS THE BOARD All five players in Auburn s lineup own scoring averages in the 70s and have demonstrated the ability to shoot low and lead the team in tournaments. Throughout the season all five players have carded top-20 finishes, with Marta Sanz taking one top-5 finish. Sanz leads the team with the lowest stroke average of 74.77, three top-10 finishes and five sub-par rounds. TIGERS OPEN UP THE FALL SEASON WITH A SIXTH PLACE FINISH AT COUGAR CLASSIC The No. 6/7 Auburn women s golf team finished sixth in the final round of the Cougar Classic at 6-over for the tournament, carding rounds of 288-288-294--870. Junior Marta Sanz led the Tigers with her first top-10 finish of the season, tying for sixth. TIGERS TIE FOR THIRD AT THE LIZ MURPHEY FALL PREVIEW The No. 8 Auburn women s golf team finished the Liz Murphey Fall Preview tied for third place, carding a 19-over 883 for the tournament. Junior Marta Sanz lead the team for the third day in a row, finishing tied for third overall with a 1-under 215. AUBURN TAKES 14TH AT TAR HEEL INVITATIONAL The No. 8 Auburn women s golf team finished the Liz Murphey Fall Preview tied for third place, carding a 19-over 883 for the tournament. Junior Marta Sanz lead the team for the third day in a row, finishing tied for third overall with a 1-under 215. The No. 29 Auburn women s golf team completed play at the Lady Bulldog Individual Championship in Athens, Ga., on Saturday. The tournament was changed to 18 holes of play because of morning frost. Alex Harrell led the Tigers in the tournament with a top 10 finish, tying for eighth with a 4-over 76 AUBURN FINISHES 11TH AT LADY PUERTO RICO INVITATIONAL The No. 29 Auburn women s golf team finished the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in 11th after carding a 16-over 304 in the final round on Tuesday, bringing the team score to a 52-over 916 for the tournament. Senior Carlie Yadloczky finished in the top 10 individually, tied for ninth with a 72-72-74--220. TIGERS FINISHES 18TH AT SUGAR BOWL INTERCOLLEGIATE The No. 29 Auburn women s golf team finished the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate in 18th after carding a final-round 27-over 315 to be 41-over 617 for the tournament. Junior Marta Sanz finished tied for 20th with a 72-75--147. AU FINISHES 15TH AT DARIUS RUCKER INVITATIONAL The No. 29 Auburn women s golf team finished the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in 15th with an 86-over 938. Diana Fernandez led the Tigers for the tournament with an 18-over 231. TIGERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON AT BRYAN NATIONAL COLLEGIATE The No. 28 Auburn women s golf team finished play at the Bryan National Collegiate tied for ninth with a 30-over 894. Marta Sanz carded a top 10 finish, her third of the season, with a 75-69-75--219 to tie for seventh. AUBURN TAKES SIXTH AT SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP The Auburn women s golf team finished in 10th at the 2013 SEC Championship with a 69-over 321. The Tigers carded rounds of 321-306-306. Sophomore Victoria Trapani placed in the top 10, finishing tied for sixth at 11-over, 78-73-76--227. AU CLOSES OUT FALL WITH A 12TH PLACE FINISH AT BETSY RAWLS LONGHORN INVITATIONAL The No. 8 Auburn women s golf team concluded play at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in 12th place, carding a 903 in its last fall tournament and 18-over 306 for the final round.
