The Edy Ujczo Partnership Trophy Sponsored by Regina Sacha-Ujczo Robert Simon Nomination Letter To the man who has supported me tirelessly and with great love, through everything horses. Supporting me financially in every nuance and turn, even after I said how much the dressage show jacket would cost, or how the new ear bon net would show off my horse's head and match the saddle pad, too. Gleefully cleaning stalls day after day, helping with buckets, grooming the horse and even to hand walk and graze at the drop of a hat. Finding out the playful pushing games he taught the horse, which unfortunately I'd need him to correct, since I'm not as strong as him. Learning to read my tests for me when I needed help with memorizing, Lord knows its harder when you're over 50. Setting up my portable dressage ring markers so I could practice movements to improve before my next lesson or using his big outside voice when my ears made me feel the reality of growing older. Always giving me rock solid encouragement, when I had none after winter weeks of discouraging rides in trying new movements I'd think I'd never get right. Always standing with me, when I was uncertain about my own accomplishments as a rider. Offering help at every turn at anytime, never complaining when asked to hold the headstall of the bridle as if it was on the horse's head so that I could be sure to put everything back together again perfectly after cleaning, usually sometime after midnight. For packing our vehicle for every horses how early in the morning, for always getting refreshments without direction.. Becoming the heavy lifter for everyone that was in need of one, especially all things "girl heavy". Going on involuntary rides in the back of the horse trailer. Keeping impeccable time for both me and my trainer, so "we" were always on time. His wife always has a knack for dawdling. Shining my boots so bright, they'd beam enough to blind the judge as I rode by, so they might not see the infraction made in a movement caused from nerves. Keeping horse and rider spotless, happy with treats and keeping the goobers where they should be, not on horse or rider, but on a rag that he'd keep in the back pockets religiously, one for me, one for the horse, never mixing the two. I 've never known a man to share and give as much as my husband does in the enjoyment I feel riding dressage and watching a partnership form and grow stronger between human and horse. I often feel sometimes our own partnership as husband and wife is very unique as we share in our own ways enjoying a wonderful timeless sport and tradition of dressage. -Janice Simon
