The last page or certificate needs to be printed out and given to Sarah as proof of completion. Here are a list of trainings and who must take them. Director s Thursday November 14, 2013 @ the Granite Group Area 3:30 pm Meet and Greet 6 pm Campfire Chat Arizona State Parks Director Bryan Martyn will engage visitors, residents, campers, hikers, outdoor enthusiasts and other constituents in a conversation about State Parks. Come and share your views. Bighorn Sheep Reintroduction The Bighorn Sheep will be released on Monday the 18 th of Nov. If you get any good photos of them let us know and we will post them on Facebook and our website. Appreciation Dinner The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner will in January of 2014. Please watch for more information on the special event to thank all our Volunteers for the service you give. It will be held at the Oro Valley Country Club so bring an appetite. First Saturday Concerts Every First Saturday of the Month we have been having a great turn out to our outdoor Concerts at the trailhead. Our next on is on December 7 th @ 4pm with Wendy Sweet who will sing a variety of songs including holiday and patriotic songs for Pearl Harbor Day. Bring a friend and your dinner to enjoy this evening to the fullest. 2

Volunteer Get Together Wednesday Nov 20 @ the 2:00 4:00 pm All are invited! Come and meet new and returning Catalina State Park Volunteers. We will have eegee s and snacks as people visit with one another. Quick BREAK OUT SESSIONS for different volunteer groups during this party. Please see the schedule to know when your group is meeting. However you don t have to be a part of these sessions to join in this Volunteer Get Together. November 2013 Program and Events Info (view on calendar): CATALINA State Park A on the Wild Side: 9am @ the (Dates: 11/2, 11/30, 1/4, 2/1, 3/1, 3/29, 5/3) Starting at the trailhead, the talk/walk will be held on the Nature Trail at the park. Featuring several activities for families. Learn about animals of the park, get a close look at the desert floor, take a "picture" of the park, experience the web of life, and wind up with a writing experience. Those attending should wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and be prepared to "climb the hill" to the beginning of the Nature Trail. Archaeology : 10am @ the Ramada (11/4, then every Second Monday of the Month) Come hike (1 mile) and learn about the prehistoric life in the shadows of the Catalina Mountains. Bighorn Basics: 4pm @ the (Dates: 11/24, 12/29, 1/26, 2/23, 3/16, 4/27) Learn more about these animals and their return to this area. Bird s: (starts 11/13) : Every Friday & Sunday 8:30am @ the : Every Wednesday 7:30am @ the *Note: time change 8am in Dec. Whether you are a novice or a season birder come and enjoy the birds that visit and live in the Catalina s.
