ABOUT MARKHAM Markham, a city in the Regional Municipality of York, lies within the Greater Toronto Area of Southern Ontario, Canada. At the 2011 Canadian census it had a population of 301,709. [1] The city is the fourth- largest community within the Greater Toronto Area after Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton. Markham changed its status from town to city on July 1, 2012. Climate Markham borders and shares the same climate as Toronto. Temperatures average between 12ºC (53ºF) and 30ºC (90ºF) in May. Currency Canadian Dollar TRANSPORTATION Airport: All participants (player, coaches, officials, parents/accompanying person) that have reserved accommodation with Table Tennis Canada at the official hotel (Hilton Markham Conference Centre and Spa) will receive airport transportation from Pearson International (YYZ) to the hotel in Markham. Upon arrival please locate a volunteer holding up a Pan Am Test Event sign. He will direct you to your vehicle. The airport shuttle has been arranged with the understanding that some arriving participants may have to wait for the arrival of some on a later flight. Every effort is made to limit the waiting period to 1h, however please be advised that some delays may impact this waiting period. Hotel- Venue Shuttle A shuttle will loop around the hotel to the venue (maximum 5-10 minutes) every day from 7:00-20:00 (later when needed). There will be no official schedule for departure/arrival times as the shuttle will run continuously. Everyone staying at the hotel is free to jump on board as needed.

PARKING Parking is available at a daily rate. TTCAN will not cover any parking fees. MEALS Meals will be served at the hotel in the Meeting Room Willow 4 (lower level of hotel) Breakfast: 6:30-8:30 Lunch: 11:30-14:30 Dinner: 17:30-20:30 Meals are provided according to your arrival and departure days. Dinner is provided on your check- in day and breakfast is provided on your checkout day 3 meals for all other days. You will receive tickets for your meals. You will receive an event bracelet that will be used as your accreditation. If you prefer not to wear it, then please make sure it is hanging from your bag or tracksuit and visible to the gate check volunteers upon entering the venue. All players and coaches will receive a bracelet. All accompanying persons that purchased the hospitality package will also receive an accreditation. All spectators (accompanying person with accreditation included) will be asked to access the bleachers using the upper level entrance. The field of play (FOP) will be restricted to players, coaches and technical officials ONLY. PLAYER NUMBERS Players are required to wear the player number for all matches. They will be distributed at the Delegates Meeting. TICKETS Each athlete is entitled to one FREE ticket for 1 family member per day. All other attending family members will be required to purchase tickets. A list of athletes will be available at the ticket desk to monitor this. Tickets can be purchased online (group rates available) through: http://pongshop.ca Tickets can also be purchased at the door. VENUE Markham Pan/Parapan Am Centre 16 Main Street, Markham, ON Free parking is available at the venue. PIGEON BOXES Each country will have their own pigeon box at the venue. MIXED ZONE
Once an athlete finishes a match, he/she may be required to walk through the Mixed Zone. We will try and inform the coach prior to the match, but if we are unable to, please be kind enough to cooperate with local media if they are present. We might be conducting individual interviews as well during the week therefore be advised that this is also a possibility. Details will be provided during the Delegates Meeting ITTF NA Cadet Team Qualifier: May 10 th immediately after last match in venue Butterfly Canadian Junior and Cadet Open Team Medal Ceremony: May 12 th at 20:15 Butterfly Canadian Junior and Cadet Open Singles Medal Ceremony: May 14 th at 17:15 ITTF North America Cup and Hopes Challenge: May 17 th at 20:30 Note: times are subject to change based on delays in schedule or last minute changes.
