Marc Power is an excellent teacher of skating and skills through creative, enjoyable and challenging sessions! As a former hockey player who has played at all levels including Junior A, College, all the way to playing over in Europe, Marc has a vast experience in all of hockey. As a result of a knee injury, Marc came back and he used his talent, expertise and ability to analyze with his professional hockey friends. He came back to his roots, continuing to follow his passion for the game and this is how his journey began. The game gets faster and is evolving every year. Marc Power introduces players to a formula that will help them reach their top speed. They learn how to trust their edges and be the best they can be. Marc s 25 years of experience as an educator sets him apart from all others, as he effectively transfers his extensive hockey and skating knowledge and experience to any player. His ability to analyze players movements with a technical eye,and then effectively communicate areas for development and improvement, allows players to develop higher speeds with more efficient movement. No matter what age or level of ability, every client is challenged and has fun with his outside of the box creative lessons. Developing confidence, good habits and determination, players have the best chance to move their skating to the next level. Marc Power has enjoyed working with many teams including being the skating coach for the Ottawa Senators for 16 years, brought home Olympic Gold (2010, 2014) as skating coach for Women s National Hockey Program, since 2006 skating coach for all of the National Women s Program which includes Women s National U22 Development & U18, IIHF Lead Skating Instructor U18 High Performance Camps (Finland, England), as well as skating coach for the Ottawa 67 s-ohl, Ottawa University Men s and Women s Teams, Carleton University- Women s Team. He is a member of Team Canada s Skills Consulting Team, consults with Montreal Canadian s Skills Coach on skating, and is the owner/operator of Power 456 Skating and Skills Hockey School. He understands how young players learn. With Marc s experienced practice planning and instruction, your child will learn how to focus and develop through fun, positive and challenging sessions. Last summer, the program was a great success, helping young, enthusiastic players of all levels develop and improve their skating and puck skills. Already demand for 2018 has been overwhelming. In response, Marc has booked two 1-hour sessions on Thursday nights. There is room for 20 skaters each session. There is also room for 4-6 goalies to participate in Marc s drills, plus specific goalie drills with a goaltending instructor. Age or level doesn t matter. NHL SKATING CONSULTANT 2016 to present Working with Montreal Canadiens Skills Coach Sébastien Bordeleau on the technical points of skating to complement his skills teaching to AHL and NHL players. As well as providing him videos for AHL players during the season. OTTAWA SENATORS SKATING COACH 1999 TO 2015 Work with NHL, affiliation AHL, and ECHL players during the season and off season. Teaching the mechanics of skating adapted to the players area of need in order to make them a more efficient skater. The skating sessions are incorporated into the players overall development and maintenance program.
