Formally known as The Manitoba Open, the MTS Classic and later the Free Press Manitoba Classic, the Players Cup is a Manitoba tradition steeped in history. 17 6 7 11 14 13 4 5 12 In 2013, the Players Cup joined Mackenzie Tour PGA TOUR Canada and has become one of the premier events on the national circuit that is now the first step on the path to the PGA TOUR. Pine Ridge Golf Club The Mackenzie Tour features a roster of some of the world s best up and coming golfers competing for their share of the $175,000 Players Cup purse. Many Mackenzie Tour champions have gone on to notable careers on the PGA TOUR including Nick Taylor, Mike Weir, Tony Finau, David Hearn, as well as, former Players Cup Champions Erik Compton, Graham DeLaet and C.T. Pan. This year the Players Cup will be hosted at the Donald Ross designed Pine Ridge Golf Club, July 6th to 9th.
