Dear Target Shooter Congratulations on the acquisition of your new target rifle. Our rifles are used worldwide with great success. We are convinced that your decision was easy. Our products fulfill the highest engineering standards and are manufactured with the latest product technology. Please carefully read the following before using your new rifle: 1. Always consider a rifle loaded until you personally checked that it is not. Make sure the action is open when you carry the rifle around so everybody can see that your rifle is unloaded. 2. Make sure the muzzle is always pointed downrange or in a safe direction! 3. Always make sure that you are using the correct ammunition for your rifle. 4. Before shooting always check to see that your barrel is not obstructed. 5. The safety lever must always be pushed all the way in either safe or ready to fire position (F)! Always keep your rifle on safe until you are ready to fire. Make sure there is nothing between the muzzle and the target before you release the safety lever. Always keep the finger off the rigger until you are ready to shoot. 6. Except for cleaning, your rifle should only be disassembled by an authorized gunsmith. 7. The life of your rifle and your barrel depends on proper care. Please carefully follow the instructions in your rifle s manual. 8. Target rifles should only be used by an experienced shooter or under the supervision of such an individual. (190511/1757) 2
Bedding The Racer is bedded in a unique way. Aluminum buffer Barrel Mounting screws Camber block Base plate The barrel is bedded to minimize vibrations. The aluminium buffer absorbs vibrations between the chamber block and the barrel. Two special O-rings and four absorber pellets are used for vibration reduction. Two special O-rings Four absorber pellets The barrel of the Racer is screwed into the chamber block using a fine thread. With this design the barrel is not compressed! This reduces or eliminates chamber distortion. Three special O-rings absorb the vibrations between the barrel and the chamber block. To prevent warpage, eight mounting screws are used to connect the chamber block to the base plate. 3 units of special-o-rings Fine thread 3
Three locking lugs The bolt has three locking lugs and is made of special steel. The bolt it is hardened and coated. Safety / dry fire switch The safety switch is also a dry fire mechanism. The safety switch directly blocks the firing pin limiting the firing pin travel to only 1 millimeter. Firing pin The firing pin ignites the cartridge at the bottom (6 o clock position). The firing pin is manufactured from a single piece of steel. The distance the firing pin travels is extremely short and has a very fast lock time. Firing pin stud Firing pin at bottom Firing pin safety The bolt has a firing pin safety. In the unlikely event that (a) the firing pin stud breaks when locking the bolt or that (b) the sear does not engage properly, then the firing pin will be slowed down by the firing pin safety (cylinder pin) and should not have sufficient energy to ignite a cartridge. Gas Pressure relief port The port for the gas pressure relief is located directly above the extractor and drilled at a forward angle. Any escaping gas from a cartridge failure should be redirected forward. The shooter and the adjacent shooter are protected from escaping gas. In addition the design protects the extractor from damage. Gas Pressure relief port 50 degrees locking The locking angle has the following advantages: - Short locking path - More clearance to operate the rear sight when bolt is open 50 degrees locking Non-rotating bolt face The Racer has a non-rotating bolt face. This means that the bolt handle will only turn the outer bolt cylinder when cocking the firing pin. The inner part of the bolt, including the bolt face and firing pin, never rotates. This design leads to a more consistent ignition. 5
Convenient loading The loading port is conveniently located close to the shooter s hand position. A large loading window enables better accessibility. Loading from the top as well as from the side is possible. Ejector The ejector is force-directed and integrated into the the loading ramp. The shooter can choose the retraction speed of the bolt and can thus adapt the extraction force. Ejector switch ON / OFF If the switch is ON, the ejector is turned on. If the switch is OFF, the ejector is turned off and the shell may be extracted by hand. 6
Loading ramp The loading ramp retracts automatically in the base plate when locking the bolt. Positioning of the trigger unit The state of the art trigger includes multiple adjustments. Adjustment screws are easily accessible from the bottom. The trigger unit is positioned tension-free on the side of the base plate. Two positioning pins allow the trigger to be removed and reinstalled in the same position every time. Positioning pins Bolt release The bolt is released by push button and enables simple and convenient removal. Bolt stop bolt release Dove-tail sight rail Long dove-tail sight rail for sighter scope positioning. 7
Easy slide-on for rear sight Cut-out designed to reduce damage to eye glasses Magic triangle Ejector ON / OFF Bolt release In the magic triangle, the following functions can be conveniently performed: Safety / dry fire lever Loading guide / Easy cleaning The rifle was designed so that the action is easily accessible for cleaning. After removing the bolt you can simply click out the loading guide that is located next to the loading ramp. Loading guide Loading guide removed Reinstall the loading guide by inserting it into the chamber with your finger. The loading ramp can also be pushed down to its low position to allow cleaning of the area around the chamber more easily. Loading ramp nduviduell Loading guide 8
