I can t believe the end of August is almost here. While it seems like summer has zipped by, it also seems like the May Poker Run was long ago. I guess time flies when we re keeping busy. Our Hospitality Picnic on August 7 th was a huge success, with over 50 members present. While we didn t sign up any new members, it was a fun event, and members had a beautiful day to socialize and get to know each other better. Let s all give a big thank you to ValJean and Bill Rossmann for putting on such a great picnic (and also to Dwight and Mary Hutton, who both pitched in to help with the preparations.) Thanks to everyone who brought something edible to share. Our second try for a cruise at King s turned out just like our first, as the weather was just as wet as in July. We might consider looking for a date in September for one last shot at a cruise for this season. Since our first attempt for GPMC service night at Starlite this year was a complete rainout, we re planning a second try on August 26 th. It will be Mopar night. Plan on coming out to help with setup, directing traffic, or tear down. Be sure to check the Starlite weather hotline (724-935-6803, Ext. 2222) beforehand to see if it s been cancelled. Our next meeting will be held on September 7 th back at Roosevelt Grove in North Park. Danielle Lane, our VP, will be presiding. I hear that Dwight still has some hot dogs left from the picnic, so plan on bringing your appetite. Bring your own beverages and anything you'd like to have with the hot dogs. Jennie & I will see you all back at King s for our October 5 th meeting. Keep those motors runnin, Ken Photos from last year s GPMC Service Night at Starlite: Left: Ken, ValJean, Chris, and Bill demonstrate greeting participants. Right: David & Marie-Claude direct traffic. Plan on coming it s fun!!!

Dwight is in contact with Bob Parsons of the Valley Forge Mustang Club who will be having a group there. The 50 th Anniversary Celebration will be in Dearborn over July 4 th weekend. Event Wrap-Up: Ken stated that Ed and Jason are still working on the final reports for the All-Ford Car Show. It looks like we ll have funds for a donation to the Crohn s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). The Can-Am income and expenses were reviewed and the final report will be available at August s meeting. A few dash plaques are still available. Upcoming Events: Events are listed in the newsletter. Dwight mentioned that the Starlite Volunteer Night was rained out and was rescheduled for August 26. Our King s car cruise on July 9 was rained out and our second one is scheduled for August 19 (rain date August 26). A third is scheduled in September at North Park. Other events mentioned were: September 18 brunch and cruise to Sharon, PA; 1 st annual Pumpkin Cruise and Car show; a car cruise at Penn State, New Kensington campus; October 9 Fall Foliage tour, possibly during Bedford Days; and December 11, Holiday Party at the Hampton Banquet Hall. Also a tentative November or December activity at the Frick. Old Business: None New Business: Jason mentioned the Starlite cruise needs help for August 26 if we don t use our rain date.
