All other days are by key access only. From the Editor, Apart from the official stuff this newsletter contains mainly my ramblings, observations and bad jokes. Should you wish to avoid a similar fate next quarter please send me some stuff to put in it. We actually have had a fair amount going on during the last quarter with the club Christmas party and several flying events taking place at our field and I have endeavoured to report on it as best I can through my own observations. I apologise in advance for anything I missed but what I don t know about I can t write about. The next meeting will also be the yearly AGM so please support your club and make an effort to get there if possible and have your say. Dave Middleton Notification! CONTROL LINE REPORT 5/12/2004 Report by Don Keyssecker Apologies for this late report on the control line contest held at WPMAC for Doonside MAC due to the closure of their field that weekend. Doonside MAC would like to thank WPMAC for their assistance to hold the event on short notice and the BBQ workers for another great job. Congratulations to Stephen Yeatman on winning the novice event with Mark Haines & Len Horwood hot on his heels. Good flying men. At a contest held at Kelso Park, Bankstown on Sat 29/1/05 Don Keyssecker flew into 2 nd position with Stephen Yeatman to 4 th in the vintage event. WPMAC Annual Control Line Contest 13/3/2005 Report By Don Keyssecker Held on Sunday 13 March it has proved again to be a successful event. There were 10 entrants for F2B and 3 for Classic. All who entered the competition were pleased with the facilities and were also quite surprised at being presented with a certificate for participating in the contest. The Highest Point Scorer off the stick on the day was Mark Batty. The F2B winners were: Frank Battam 1 st (4S) Reg Towell 2 nd (4S) Paul Turner 3 rd (2S) Classic Event: Frank Battam 1 st (Nobler) Don Keyssecker 2 nd (Tucker Special) Steve Masterton 3 rd (Chisler) A special Thank You to the Judges Joan McIntyre for F2B and Neil Alleyn for Classic. Thank you also to the BBQers for another good feed and a special mention to Jackie Keyssecker for her efforts in assisting with the preparation of the field. Page 2 of 7

ROUND UP OF EVENTS Since the last newsletter a few things have been happening. The first of those was the excellent Christmas party which was held for the second year running now at the St Marys Leagues Club on Saturday 18 th December. For 20 bucks each it was probably the most fun you can have without a transmitter in your hand. Worth a special mention is Brian Draper who did the most realistic Santa I think I have ever seen, not just for the entertainment of those in our group either. Good food and good company what more could one ask of a social event. Photos tell the story. The next event the club was involved with was round one of the Millennium Cup a 2 metre glider competition held at our field on Sunday 9/1. I did not attend and I have not received any information on how it went so, unfortunately, I can t tell you anything. Soon after our field was invaded yet again, this time by SAS club scale and for the entire weekend of 5-6/2, thankfully we were allowed club flying on the Saturday am. I had expected it to be rather crowded with club members anxious to get in a bit of flying during the only time permitted that weekend but the skies were almost completely empty which gave plenty of air time to those few club members who were flying. They were judging round one and flying round two and it was while they were doing the judging on Saturday am that we got to fly. So we got the best part of the day as the wind, as it usually does, came up around midday. Even if you were not flying it was worth it to put in an appearance just to check out the scale models. I enjoy scale modelling but I would never be able to take it to the level these guys do, they were all superb models and some were absolutely mind boggling in their attention to scale detail, again photos tell the story. The logistics and admin were as usual handled very ably by Dave Lewis with Marcia and Dave manning the BBQ for lunch. I wasn t there on the Sunday but I understand they did it all over again. Page 3 of 7

More photos of the scale comp. Page 4 of 7

Last but definitely not least in the round up of events, congratulations go to Ron Clare for attaining his Bronze Wings & John Vines for attaining his Gold Wings. Well done to both pilots. Special Mention to Junior Member Vincent Moore who took out the MASNSW Point Score award for Best Junior in Sportsman Pylon in the 2004 season. Page 5 of 7

On a somewhat different note the following article was sent by one of our members. I include it here only as a sombre reminder of how potentially dangerous our sport can be. Notification Of Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting of WPMAC Inc. will be held on Friday 20 th of May at 7:30pm in the Upstairs Meeting Room of the Blue Cattledog Hotel, Mamre Road, St Clair. This will be conducted in conjunction with our regular Quarterly Meeting During that meeting elections for the Executive Positions will be conducted. Nominations for Executive Positions can be submitted prior to or during the meeting. Club Fee structure for 2005-2006 year will be set at the AGM. Page 6 of 7

Bob Godfrey s Latest Creation What a Beauty! Absolutely nothing to do with flying R/C model aircraft, I just wanted to end on a lighter note. A young newlywed couple wanted to join a church. The pastor told them, "We have special requirements for new parishioners. You must abstain from sex for one whole month." The couple agreed and after two-and-a-half weeks returned to the Church. When the Pastor ushers them into his office, the wife is crying and the husband obviously very depressed "You are back so soon... Is there a problem?" the pastor inquired. "We are terribly ashamed to admit that we did not manage to abstain from sex for the required month..." the young man replied sadly. The pastor asked him what happened. "Well, the first week was difficult. However, we managed to abstain through sheer willpower. The second week was terrible, but with the use of prayer, we managed to abstain. However, the third week was unbearable. We tried cold showers, prayer, reading from the Bible... anything to keep our minds off carnal thoughts. One afternoon, my wife reached for a can of paint and dropped it. When she bent over to pick it up, I was overcome with lust and had my way with her right then and there." admitted the man, shamefacedly. "You understand this means you will not be welcome in our church," stated the pastor. "We know" said the young man, hanging his head. "We're not welcome at Homebase either." Page 7 of 7
