Attendance Just a reminder, attendance for students needs to be emailed to attendance@queenofangelssch.org. If your child will be tardy, needs an early dismissal, or will be absent, please email at that address. This will go directly to both Julie and Annette, the secretaries at Queen of Angels, and they will document the daily attendance in accordance with the email. If you can t email, we happily still accept phone calls and written excuses. Transportation Changes Any transportation changes must notify the office prior to 1:00 PM. If a child is to ride home via parent or bus with a friend, a note must be received from both families indicating the date and bus/car they are to ride. Science Fair We are looking for parents with science careers to help with the Middle School Science Fair. Please contact Mrs. Gilkey @ cgilkey@queenofangelssch.org. Fall Fundraiser Otis Spunkmeyer and Little Caesars DATES TO REMEMBER Delivery is scheduled for Thursday, November 8th from 12:00-4:30 PM. Thank you for your support! Lottery Calendars Lottery Calendar Money and stubs are due before Tuesday, November 20 th. If you would like to purchase additional calendars, please call the school office at 724-978-0144. The calendars make great Christmas gifts for that hard to buy for special person in your life. Sarris Christmas Candy Fundraiser Queen of Angels Catholic School will once again be selling Christmas Sarris candy. Students will be bringing home a brochure with an order form and a sample chocolate covered pretzel. Orders are due to the school office before November 13th. Please support our school by ordering sweets for the holidays. Candy makes great gifts for all, including teachers, co-workers, babysitters. If you are interested in ordering, please complete your order form along with payment (checks payable to Queen of Angels Catholic School) and return to school in an enveloped marked, Sarris Candy Order. Pick up is scheduled for December 4th at the Queen of Angels gym. Any questions please call the school office at (724) 978-0144. Thank you for your patronage, we appreciate your support! Popcorn Machine The kiddos love popcorn and our machine broke! If you would like to donate towards the purchase of a new machine, please contact Mrs. Ruth Ann Noblick at 724-978-0144 or rnoblick@queenofangelssch.org.

Light-up Night Parade Queen of Angels will once again be participating in the Irwin s Light-up Night Parade on November 15th. Our 8th graders will be riding in the Kennywood Trolley and our younger grades will be walking and distributing glow sticks to parade spectators. If your student participates in this school event they will be given a uniform pass to be used on a non-mass day throughout the school year. If possible please wear spirit wear or school colors! Look for a flyer to be sent home with more details in next few weeks. Success Club Success Club is a FREE service offered to students in grades 3-8. It is on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4 in the library. Mrs. Yakel, Mrs. McLellan, and Mrs. Banko are the teachers who will be helping the students with assignments in Success Club. Success Club will begin on Monday, November 5th. Out of courtesy, the teachers ask that parents picking up students from Success Club please be on time. PLEASE LET THE OFFICE AND YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER KNOW IF YOUR STUDENT WILL BE STAYING FOR SUCCESS CLUB. Calling Volunteers We are currently seeking individuals (parents, grandparents, parishioners etc.) who would like to share their talents and interest with our school students at after-school clubs. These clubs could range from gardening, to cooking, to sports, to photography, to robotics, the arts etc. These clubs would meet from 3:00-4:00pm and could meet weekly, biweekly or monthly depending on your schedule. All volunteers would need to have their clearances. If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 724-978-0144 or contact Christina at ctorok@queenofangelssch.org. Kindness Club Food Bank Donation Queen of Angels Kindness Club is sponsoring a community outreach project to benefit recipients of the Westmoreland County Food Bank. Forms were sent home with families that give you the opportunity to purchase one feather for $1.00 or outfit an entire turkey with 10 feathers for $10.00. Our goal is to show kindness by helping those in need. We will then decorate our school hallways with the turkeys that are made. Thanks in advance for your generosity! Please be on the lookout for the flyer with more details! Christmas Family Fun Night Mark your calendars! Christmas Family Fun Night will be held Friday, December 7 th from 6:30 8:00 PM. More information to come. Annual Casino Night This year s Annual Casino Night is going to be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Antonelli s Event Center. This year s theme will be the Kentucky Derby, so start hat shopping now! Christmas Concert Our Annual Christmas concert will be Thursday, December 13 th.

Birthday Dress Down Days This year we will be offering again a birthday dress down day for your child s class on their birthday. This may be instead of (or in addition) to a class treat. The cost will be $1.00 for each child in the class, so you would have to purchase a pass for the entire class. Birthday dress down forms can be found on the Queen of Angels website on the Home Page. All checks and cash must be in an envelope with the child s name and room number. You can send one check for all your children. Please denote how you want the money divided. If their account is in the negative, they are not permitted to buy ala carte. When packing lunches, please remember to pack all the condiments, utensils, straws and napkins they will need.
