WATERLOO FORE YOU News for EWGA Waterloo Region members May 2018 Here we are, into our golf season. In April it felt like it would never start. You have all heard about the name change and rebranding to LPGA Women Who Play, so why do we still have an EWGA logo in the top corner? As a licensee in Canada, our process is a little different than that of the U.S. chapters. We have an agreement in place with EWGA, and that agreement must be changed, and all terms agreed to, before we accept and adopt the new name and branding. Your EWGA Canada Board is working on that right now, and we will share news as soon as it is available. - What is The Waggle? That is the monthly newsletter that comes from the Canadian headquarters. It features information and news that effect all members in Canada, and also features information from the other Canadian chapters. Waterloo Fore You is our Waterloo region chapter newsletter which is bi-monthly. June 5th is Women s Golf Day! How will you mark the day? Join other chapters at the prestigious private club Meadowbrook Golf Club. Includes golf and dinner, see ewga.ca events to register. Ladies, this is the year to participate in your Chapter Championship. It is fun! You will play with members with similar handicaps, 5 flights.
Your Handicap: The 2018 golf season is well on its way. The goal for all our members is to play more, play better, have FUN and make lifelong friends. As you play your nine and 18 holes of golf, I encourage all golfers at all levels of golf (Beginner/ Novice to Advanced) to record your scores on GN21 handicap network at www.lpgawomenwhoplay.com; Golf Association of Canada (GAO) or any other Handicap tracking service. Recording your 9 & 18 holes score on a regular basis reduces the inconsistencies and allow for fair and respectful play among the members. As the Match Play FUN competition begins, it is important that you have a Handicap and ensure that your scorecard is attested (signed) by the golfer you played with. Chapter Championship registration is NOW Open. You will need a Handicap to participate in this FUN event. You must have at least 6-9 holes scores or 2 18 holes scores to gain a Handicap Index. MATCH PLAY There is still time to sign up for either 9 hole or 18 hole Match play. Contact Marilyn Brown at marilynbrown@rogers.com

Calling all members that like earlier tee off times, and options to play 18 holes At the Kick-off we asked those members that were interested in playing earlier in the day, or that were interested in playing 18 holes, rather than just 9 holes, to provide their name, email and phone to be added to a list that would be circulated to others also interested. We now have a large list which has been shared to all that signed. For those would like to be added to this contact list, please contact Diane Williamson diane@digitalwiz.com Provide your name, phone and email address. Diane will add you to the list and return the full list to you, so that those members can contact one another to make their own daytime tee time arrangements. Connect With Us We have a group on FaceBook EWGA Waterloo Chapter Follow us on Twitter: @EWGAWR Food Service at Doon and Rockway follow-up Many of you may recall that we sent a survey regarding the food and beverage service at both Doon and Rockway, just before the season began. The feedback indicated that we had to request some changes be made to provide a wider selection of food choices, and to improve the quality. We wrote to the Manager responsible at the City of Kitchener. They were very responsive, and we have found that the kitchen in both locations is truly trying very hard to improve the food, and generally our dining experience. Please support these efforts by staying after your round for some food or a beverage. It is a wonderful time to visit with other members, make some new friends and show the courses that we appreciate the efforts they are making.
