Welcome to the Kicks League at Blue Sky Sports Center in Allen! Please try to remember the following throughout the entire season: 1. These are KIDS 2. This is a GAME 3. Parents should cheer for EVERYONE 4. The referees are HUMAN 5. You and your child ARE NOT professionals Please keep it all in perspective

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: On our junior field cleats, turf shoes, flats or running shoes are allowed. Everyone MUST wear shin guards with soccer socks covering their shin guards. Players must wear soccer shorts or some type of short comparable to soccer shorts. This could be basketball shorts or running shorts. Blue Sky will provide the jerseys for the players. We suggest everyone wear black shorts and black socks because it will match with every jersey Blue Sky provides. ID CARDS: Everyone playing U5 and older (Junior, Super and Premier Kicks) MUST have a Blue Sky Sports Center Player ID card to play. To obtain a player card, Blue Sky must verify the players age via a birth certificate or passport. It is $18 to purchase a player card and we will take the players picture. All players must hand their own player ID card to the referee at the start of the game. If a player forgets their player ID card, they must purchase a temporary card for $3- good for that one day- to be allowed to play. If a player loses their player ID card, they must purchase a replacement card for $6- good through expiration date on the original card- to be allowed to play. Coaches must have a coaches card to coach at Blue Sky Sports Center. Coaches must fill out a background check form and purchase a coach s card for $15.

TINY KICKS (2 YRD OLD) LEAGUE RULES: There are 5 players on the field at one time with no goalie. All players are allowed to go anywhere on the field. One coach per team is allowed to be on the field with the players during the game. Parents may find their child will do better if they are also on the field during the game. We encourage you to try and teach your child to play without you, but if necessary we encourage you to stand along the sideline inside the field. We request by the 2nd or 3rd game the parents have removed themselves from the field. Each game is made up of four 6 minute quarters with a minute break in between. No score is kept. A size 3 ball will be used. Emphasis is on FUN. This league is for kids to learn to play a sport with other kids as well as learning how to kick the ball and go in the correct direction. We suggest coaches find someone to be in charge of a snack schedule, as the players love getting snacks after their games. All players will receive a participation medal at the end of the season.

FIRST KICKS (3&4 YR OLD) LEAGUE RULES: The will be 5 players on the field at one time with no goalie. All players are allowed to go anywhere on the field. One coach will be on the field with the players during the game (No parents). Coaches are not allowed to touch the ball during play. The coach should do everything possible to stay behind their team at all times encouraging them, but should never interfere with the ball or players on the opposing team. We suggest coaches to wear the same color t- shirt as their team so they can easily find you. Free substitution is allowed at any time. Each game is made up of four 8 minute quarters with a minute break in between. No score is kept in this league. A size 3 ball will be used. Teams are allowed three coaches in the bench area during the game. Since one coach will be on the field during the game, the other two adults are allowed outside the field of play to assist with players that aren t on the field. Everyone must have fun! We suggest coaches find someone to be in charge of a snack schedule, as the players love getting snacks after their games. All players will receive a participation medal at the end of the season.

JUNIOR KICKS (2012) LEAGUE RULES: There will be 4 players on the field at one time with no goalie. Each game is made up of two 20 minute halves with a minute of half time. The arch rule- no player may enter the crease to play the ball. o If a player enters the crease and touches the ball with any part of their body it is a violation. If a defensive player has either foot standing inside the crease and touches the ball then it will be a penalty kick from mid-field for the offensive team. Defensive players will line up on the center line inside the center circle and offensive players will line up on the center line outside the center circle. The player taking the penalty kick will line up on the arc of the center circle closest to the goal they are shooting on. Once the referee blows the whistle that player can kick the ball. It must be touched by another player before that player can touch it again (to avoid the two-touch violation). If an offensive player has either foot standing inside the crease and touches the ball then it will be a free kick from the top of the crease for the defensive team. Two Touch Violation (kicks offs & free kicks)- the player taking the kick may not touch the ball a second time until it is touched by another player on either team. No score is kept in this league. All players will need a Blue Sky Sports Center player ID card to play in this league. A size 3 soccer ball will be used. Free substitution is allowed at any time. No slide tackling. We suggest coaches find someone to be in charge of a snack schedule, as the players love getting snacks after their games. All players will receive a participation medal at the end of the season. Two coaches are allowed in the bench area during the game.
