Mile High Elite Be Part of the Mile High Elite Family Originally opened in 2010, Mile High Elite is a proud member of the Elite family. Mile High Elite is one of the five Elite training facilities located throughout the state. The 2012-2013 season was Mile High Elite's debut season, bringing to light our philosophy of providing state of the art cheerleading and tumbling training. We believe we will best serve our athletes by training them with the tools that allow them to reach their full potential through a combination of practice, repetition, and education in the sport of cheerleading. Our primary goal has and forever will be to teach athletes how to work together to be successful, which doesn't always translate into winning. Hard work and dedication are key traits we wish to instill in our athletes. These traits are not exclusive to the sport of cheerleading, but rather translate into multiple aspect of life. It's the journey of our athletes once they have left our facility that has made us most proud. Countless college programs throughout the country have benefited from the hard work of our athletes. Summer camps with several different cheerleading companies have also grown with the addition of our prior athletes sharing their newly gained experience as instructors throughout the US.

What is All Star Cheerleading? All Star cheerleading is a competitive team sport incorporating skills from several other disciplines including gymnastics, dance, acrobatics, and of course, cheer. All Star cheerleading squads do not cheer for other sports teams; they are the team! All Star teams train year round for competitions. They also differ from most other sports in that every member is vital to the team and the performance; there are no benchwarmers. Each member of the squad is trained in all aspects of the sport in order to develop their skills to reach their maximum potential. All Star teams are typically comprised of anywhere from 5-36 athletes with a variety of skills and abilities, much like a football or basketball team. There can be solid, wellrounded athletes and those who have particularly strong abilities in certain areas (i.e. strong dancers or jumpers). The coaches create a competition routine that has elements of tumbling, stunting, jumping, dance and other skills, set to music. The routines are typically two and half minutes in length. At competitions the teams are divided by age and ability level. The routines are judged by their level of difficulty, precision, creativity and entertainment value. There are thousands of all-star programs of all types across the country. While not every program is a perfect fit for every athlete, the Elite family believes it provides a wellrounded program that will fit the needs of athletes ranging from the beginning level to the most elite. Regardless of what program you choose, all-star cheerleading is a great way for athletes to learn new skills while also building teamwork skills, goal setting, social skills, and sportsmanship.
Tryouts Following the final day of tryouts, Mile High Elite staff will meet to evaluate each athlete s tryout to place them in appropriate practice groups. Practice groups will be announced May 4 th. Practice groups are made up of athletes consisting of the same age and skill level. These groups are designed to give athletes the chance to work with other athletes to demonstrate skills that are not evaluated at tryouts (stunting, teamwork, and attitude). Groups will work together for the reminder of the month of May and final team placements will be announced on Monday June 2, 2014. While we anticipate having a similar number of teams and divisions for this upcoming season, we cannot determine that until after the tryouts are completed. If an athlete wishes to be a flyer they will need to demonstrate overall flexibility during tryouts. All athletes who attend the tryout will be placed in a practice group and then will be placed on a specific team.

Program Costs Competitive cheerleading, while not as costly as some youth activities, can still be an expensive sport. Entry fees for competitions alone are hundreds of dollars a year per athlete. Before you consider this or any program, please carefully consider the financial commitment involved. Mile High Elite has one of the finest staffs and facilities in the state of Colorado. Our fees are comparable to other programs, but if you factor in the costs of entry fees, booster club, and other expenses that are often paid for separately at other gyms, you may actually spend less per year at Mile High Elite than at some other local programs. Other programs may advertise a lower tuition rate only to have you pay a significant amount extra throughout the year to the gym and/or booster club. Mile High Elite is always up front with our costs. We have an all inclusive pricing matrix that covers practically ALL of the expenses that an athlete would normally incur throughout the year. This price includes: tuition, entry fees to all local competitions, gym sponsored team activities, music/choreography, and other numerous expenses. This pricing matrix allows for easier financial planning through the year for our customers. One item not included in this matrix is travel expenses. The large majority of competitions that we attend are held in the Denver Metro area, which helps to keep overnight stays and other travel costs to a minimum. Mile High Elite also offers Auto Pay, which allows families to use a credit card or check card to pay for tuition without having to make payments in person or by mail. You will know exactly how much and when you will be charged. If a specific teams competition schedule changes drastically regarding the number of events attended, we will give a partial refund or ask for additional funds to cover the difference in expenses. Refunds will be credited to the athletes' account at the conclusion of the season and made available to use in the facility. Average Tuition Rates: Mini/ Youth teams (In state only): $125.00/month Youth, Junior, Senior (Nationally Competitive): $185.00/month Discounts are also available for sibling, loyalty, and current high school cheerleaders.
