Northeastern School District June 2, 2017 York Haven Elementary's Student Musicians, Comedians, Singers, Baton Twirlers, Gymnasts, Hula Hoopers, Jump Ropers, and Cheerleaders all graciously shared their talents during the annual talent show last week. Additionally, the teachers and staff were transformed into Super Heroes for their dance act. Shallow Brook students wowed the crowd with some amazing talents at the 2017 Talent Show!

On May 23, 2017 SFI hosted our First Annual 6th Grade Awards and Recognition Program! We are so proud of our Bobcats for all they have accomplished during their time at Spring Forge! This is an amazing group of students and we will miss them dearly! Keep in touch, Bobcats!

Our Super Readers at York Haven had so much to celebrate at our end of the year Super AR Celebration. As a school this year they read over 20,000 books which is no small feat for our K-3 students. Our "Hero" celebration included a visit from Lt. Godfrey and Capt. Dargo of the York County Sheriff's Dept, a visit from Susquehanna Service Dog puppy raiser Ms. Sheffer, Staff Sgt. Garrison from the US Air Force, and volunteers from the York Haven Fire Department. A wonderful luncheon was enjoyed by the NMS staff and faculty. The luncheon was provided by The Means family as a token of appreciation for their daughters successful years at the middle school. Thank You and Good Luck to Rachel and Samara in their future years at NHS.

Mrs. Hartman's third grade class welcomed grandparents into their classroom last week. The students learned how different third grade was for their grandparents by completing interviews and comparing their responses. They also taught them some new math strategies that they had never seen before when rotating around to different math review centers. The students enjoyed a new twist with their skills with some Grandparents Day number stories and comparing the length of time they both are awake. Grandparents' minds were amazed by the break-apart strategy to solve multiplication and using an open number line to find elapsed time. Some grandparents even tried the new tricks they learned! It was a fun and informative day for all! Middle School students showing support at the end of year talent show.

Thank you for your incredible kindness! A huge thank you to Conner Kister (8th Grade) (in photo) and Christ Lutheran Church Youth Group for their $321.00 donation to Rachel's Closet to help students in need. Devin Moyer, principal at Orendorf Elementary received the Celebrate Literacy award from the South Central Reading Council. Congratulations Mr. Moyer! SFI is proud to recognize three amazing runners! Madilyn Craley, Seth Erdley, and Levey Wzorek each logged over 100 miles this year during Fitness Recess! Impressive!

SFI Fourth Quarter Awards Program for Fourth and Fifth Grade On Tuesday, May 23, 2017 Spring Forge celebrated the accomplishments of our fourth and fifth grade students. Way to go, Cats! We are proud of you! Recently, Brayton Kominsky, took his award winning project to the State Computer Fair at Dickinson College. Way to represent Northeastern, Brayton!! Bobcat PROUD!!

The Super students and award winners from Shallow Brook Intermediate 4th marking period. Proud of these Bobcats!

Everyone into the pool! On Wednesday, May 24, 2017 all Bobcats who earned the AR Big Event went to Wisehaven Pool for a day of swimming fun! Our Bobcats enjoyed the heated pool and had fun celebrating their reading success! It was a taste of the summer ahead! Congratulations to all our Cats who met their goals! Way to go, Cats! Amber Herr and Macen Troup were the winners of this year s grand prize drawing taken from our Good News referrals. Congrats kids. The bicycles are awarded at our talent show every year.
