CONDITIONS OF ENTRY PLEASE NOTE: The 2018 Show & Sales will be held on two Market Days with classes on each day as follows: Wednesday 5 th December 2018 Show & Commercial Cattle, Pigs. This will be under normal Wednesday Red Market Conditions and Rules meaning all stock will go for slaughter. Cheese, Pie and Sauasage Classes. Saurday 8 th December 2018 Prime Sheep Classes. Cull Ewes Classes. This will be under normal Saturday Green Market Conditions and Rules. 4
CATTLE & SHEEP SECTIONS 1. All stock must be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor, and all stock is to have been the property of the owner on the 1st November 2018. 2. Cattle entered in classes 1-10 and will be weighed and placed in the appropriate classes. 3. All Cattle and Sheep entered in the show may be inspected and marked should the Committee so desire. Sheep should not be trimmed apart from the squaring of tails. 4. Any Exhibitor who shall infringe these or any other condition may be barred from making entries at a future show, and the Committee reserves the right to refuse any persons entry. 5. All animals exhibited must be offered for sale by bona-fide auction on Show Day. 6. Commission on all stock sold by auction will be charged at the market commission rate. For stock offered by auction and withdrawn, commissions will be charged at full rate. 7. In case there are not more than four entries in any class the Third prize will be awarded or withdrawn at the discretion of the Judges, but Rosettes will be available 8. Where Cattle forward number 10 or more a Fourth prize of 10 will be awarded. 9. All Cattle to be in the Market by 8.30am on the day of the Show. Judging of Bulls & Barren Cows to commence at 9.00am then to be followed by the Pairs & then the halter tied cattle in class order. The Judging of Show Cattle will then follow. On the Saturday Sheep are to be in the market by 8.30am and judging will be at 10.00am prompt. Time of the auctions will be announced later. 10. Any exhibitor or other person knowing of any infringement of these conditions is requested to report to the Secretary on the day of the Show, who will take the necessary action. 11. All Passports must be given to Stewards on arrival. All ear tags will be checked prior to entry into the show. 12. NB: Classes are open to all Exhibitors. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY CHEESE, SAUSAGE AND PIE SECTION 1. Classes are open to all Counties of ENGLAND. 2. In case there are not more than 4 entries in any class the third prize will be awarded or withdrawn at the discretion of the Judges. 3. The Judge will halve one pie. The Judge will cut the cheese. 4. Sausage Classes: Public Companies and their subsidiaries are not eligible for entry of the Sausage Classes. 5. All sausages and pies entered will be sold for the benefit of the Society. 6. All exhibits must be delivered to Newark Livestock Market and staged by 9.00am on the day of the show. Judging will be at 10.00am prompt. 7. Cheese: Entries remain the property of the Exhibitor unless they agree to allow them to be sold by Auction for the benefit of the Society. Any exhibitor wishing to retain his exhibits is requested to collect them between 1.00pm & 1.30pm: after which the Society accepts no responsibility. No exhibits are to be removed before 1.00pm. The sale by auction will follow the sale of Cattle. 8. No exhibitor shall take more than two prizes in any one class. Prize colours are as for Cattle & Sheep 18

Main ingredient of the speciality pie to be named on Show Day. Class 37 FRUIT PIE any shape or size pastry with a fruit filling. ALL PIES ENTERED WILL BE SOLD FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE SOCIETY 20
SAUSAGE CLASSES FOR THE BEST OVERALL SAUSAGE IN THE SHOW CLASSES 38-39 Prize money: 1 st : 15 Entry Fees: 1 each entry Although entries can be made on the day of the show it will assist if the entry form is completed and sent before the show day. Class 38 THE BEST SAMPLE OF PORK SAUSAGE 1lb cooked & 1lb uncooked sausage with out without added sage. Class 39 SPECIALITY SAUSAGE 1lb of cooked & 1lb uncooked sausage. Speciality sausage may be any type of sausage made up to the entrant s own recipe, showing originality, flair and imagination and preferably commercially saleable. Main ingredient to be named on Show Day. Uncooked sausages should remain linked* Sausages for exhibition to be hygienically packed. Trays will be provided by the society on the morning of the Show. All sausages entered will be sold for the benefit of the Society. 21
