This presents a place for adults and kids alike to enjoy the equine way of life in an educational, safe, clean and well-maintained facility open daily to members and to the general public during scheduled events. The Silver Spur operates on a volunteer basis, creating an all-ages club integrating the public into equestrian society. Pondering from the Prez-Paul Smyth As you all know the world will come to the end sometime in December. This is thought to be because the Mayan people all got together and made a calendar that stopped. I think they just ran out of paper in the printer and failed to get back to the job at hand. With that in mind we as a club have also come to an end. The show season is over, the banquet will be held December 8 th [check web for exact details] and we will have 2012 in the history books. I cannot report on the prize ride as it will have taken place between the writing of this letter and the printing. All this brings me to say it is time to start thinking of next year. We will be electing officers to run this club at the November meeting. You notice that I did not say new officers as we have very few people to choose from. We do have a very good group making decisions that will please most of our members and further the club for a long time to come however we need new blood. I will have been the President for 4 terms and I have tried to get someone else to take the lead with no luck. I like the spot I m in but it is not good for the club. In some way I have run off people from our meeting. The word I is being used here as I have been in charge as the President. Please take the time to get involved or come talk to me and tell me what to do different to encourage more in the way of leadership help. Heaven knows I have done enough to run off help. I said once it is time to start planning next year even as this one is still ticking. The 2013 calendar work will start as soon as the banquet is cleaned up and the dates you as club members might want will be important. So get any information to Sue or committee heads for consideration early for best results. Also December meeting is where our budget is set for the year. If you want input on how your clubs money is spent make the time to be there. Two items on the docket are rebuilding the main arena and the thought of putting sewer in to the club grounds. Be part of the process.
