Taking Safety & Professionalism to New Heights! www.megarme.com

A Brief History of Industrial Rope Access Originally imported to the UK from France in the mid - 1980 s Rope Access techniques rapidly gained acceptance, firstly with onshore applications and within two years in the offshore petrochemical industry. The past few years have seen the Rope Access industry diversify worldwide. The reason for Rope Access is simple. It is extremely safe (fully endorsed by the HSE) and extremely cost effective compared with traditional access methods such as scaffolding. Rope Access is rapidly deployed (usually in minutes rather than hours or days) and even more rapidly demobilised. The equipment is very light and portable, ideal when using helicopters, launches or rough terrain vehicles to get to the jobsite. Finally, Rope Access techniques can get technicians to areas that would be simply impossible or impractical using other access methods.

The System The Company Megarme was first established in 1993 in Dubai and has evolved to become the largest IRATA trainer and operator within the region. It is a Gulf-wide operation and was specifically formed to provide rope access to industries throughout the entire Middle East. Working under European Management, our people have many years of experience both on and ofshore. The fact that all this as accumulated without a single lost time accident is testament to Megarme s commitment to the highest safety standards; at Megarme safety comes first. We have at our disposal highly trained teams of Rope Access Technicians with a variety of underlying skills and disciplines, ready for dispatch to whatever extreme location that may await them. This unique form of access allows us to undertake inspection, application, installation and maintenance on practically any structure. Oil rigs, bridges, antennas and high rise buildings are just some of the locations where the benefits of rope access have been truly realized We have been utilized to great effect by many of the major industries within Gulf region - Oil and Gas Corporations. Construction Companies, Hotels and the Military to name just a few. So what is Rope Access? This is an innovative technique that integrates highly trained Rope Access Technicians from a wide range of trades and disciplines. It is a specialized means of working in elevated and extreme locations that conventional access methods such as scaffolding, cranes and support systems are found to be too costly, inflexible or time consuming.
