Cooking Classes Cooking for One or Two-Do you have an empty nest and just don t know how not to cook for a party of three of more? No worries, we have you covered. Cooking when you re single, or married with no kids in the house, can be tricky. Of course, leftovers are a practical way to get rid of excess food, but after day four, that pot roast is no longer tasty. Let our instructor help you prepare proportioned meals for two, by making healthy meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts of course. And since each meal will be perfectly portioned for two, our instructor will give you tips about remixing the leftovers to serve one. Gluten Free Cooking-We have the perfect cooking class for you if you suffer from gluten sensitivity or celiac disease, or live with people who must follow a gluten-free diet. This class will help you learn to prepare flavorful meals and appetizers that are made of rice, corn, millet, legumes, amaranth, and quinoa as well as discovering their nutritional benefits. Our instructor will also provide you with meal plans, and healthful information about purchasing gluten-free ingredients; most importantly you ll learn how to avoid contamination during food preparation. Make sure you sign up today! Youth Chef Academy - This hands-on class that meets twice a week will introduce students to the culinary world and a variety of cuisines. Chef Ali Thomas will teach students basic culinary skills and wholesome, healthy cooking. Students will learn kitchen etiquette such as food safety and cleanliness in a safe environment. Students will be empowered to tap into their culinary creativity and learn how to cook healthy foods for themselves and their families. Each student will graduate with a certificate of completion from the Youth Chef Academy. Homeschool Programs JRL YMCA Home School Gym program is offered to home school children grades K to 3rd Grade. New Member Receptions This is a thirty minute presentation designed to help our members understand all the YMCA has to offer. Includes membership information, how to register for programs, locations in our association, and more information about any program we offer. Parents Night Out Need an evening out without the kids? Let us provide dinner and entertain your 4 to 11 year old while you have an evening out. We will have fun swimming, playing in the gym and getting messy with an art project. Children will be separated into age appropriate groups. Send them with swim gear on under play clothes. Send a towel and clean change of clothes (clearly labeled). Please note, young children must be potty trained. Registration deadline is Wednesday prior to event.

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care breathing and cardia emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical personal take over. Successful completion of this course includes certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, Emergency Oxygen, and First Aid.
