Jared Hankins, Katie Davidson, and Trinity Brady Basketball This week we are proud to recognize basketball players Jared Hankins, Katie Davidson, and Trinity Brady. Hankins, a junior, played a key role in the Wildcats upset of #8 and defending state champion Ben Davis in double overtime on Friday night. Jared went 6 for 7 from 3-point range, scoring 22 points to lead the Cats. Davidson and Brady got some welcome news last week, as they were selected to the All-Marion county basketball team. Congrats, Wildcats!

Cheerleading/Student Section/Pep Band/Dance Team: Wow, what a game! A double overtime thriller with a last second shot to win it for the Cats! Great job by the cheerleaders, student section, and pep band making it a great environment on Friday night! Let s pack the gym this Friday night for the LN vs Pike game! The student section theme is USA in honor of the Winter Olympics. The LN cheerleaders will get the crowd going, the Pep Band will bring the noise and the funk, the Fierce Felines dance team will be performing at halftime, and we will have the Rita s Italian Ice Half-Court Challenge to win Rita s Italian Ice all summer long! Photos by Jared Rigdon and Alanna Ampil.

Boys Basketball: The #12 Wildcats (13-6, 2-4 MIC) beat #8 Ben Davis (17-5, 4-3 MIC) in double overtime, 69-67. The Wildcats were led by Jared Hankins with 22 points, who was on fire from 3-point range. Hank shot 6 of 7 from behind the arc. Kevin Easley had 19, Mike Saunders 12, and Tony Perkins 11, including the winning rebound basket with 2 seconds left. D.J. Hughes played extremely well on the defensive end and J.P. Carroll came off the bench, making key free throws and a deflected a pass at the end of the game to seal the win for LN. The next game is at home against the Pike Red Devils (10-8, 2-3 MIC). The student section theme is USA in honor of the Winter Olympics. Go Cats! Photos by Jared Rigdon and Alanna Ampil.

Boys/Girls Swimming: The boys swimming and diving team will be competing in the IHSAA sectional meet this Thursday and Saturday at North Central. Prelims on Thursday start at 6:00pm, with finals on Saturday starting at 1:00pm. Good luck, Wildcats!

Wrestling: The LN wrestlers fought hard at the IHSAA semi-state, with Karsten Harshbarger, Dheontae Unseld, James Despain, and Tyler Majors all winning first round matches. Senior Tyler Majors, in his first and only year wrestling, finished 4 th and will represent Lawrence North at the IHSAA State Finals! This is an incredible accomplishment!
