BETH FOWLER SCHOOL OF DANCE GREASE & MORE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE The final performance of a fantastic season of dance is upon us. Below you will find all the information you and your dancer need for the upcoming rehearsals and shows. Please read over everything, and if you have questions please let me know. The format of this production includes the dances from the student s classes in Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical and Contemporary. This is referred to as the & More section of the show. Following these dances will be the production of Grease. Grease features the Beth Fowler Dance Company, guest gentlemen and boys along with dancers in jazz class. The Genoa students will be performing in the Cast I/III (7pm shows) and the St Charles dancers in Cast II/IV (2pm shows). Mandatory Dress Rehearsals- Tuesday May 30 th thru Thursday June 1 st at the Genoa Dance Studio and Saturday June 3 rd and Sunday June 4 th at the St Charles Dance Studio. Dress Rehearsals on Tuesday June 6 th thru Thursday June 8 th will be held at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb. The Run Thru on Wednesday is for dancers in the Cast I/III (Genoa Classes) and the run-thru on Thursday is for the dancers in the Cast II/IV (St Charles classes). Both run-thru rehearsals are in costumes Wednesday will have a full show run thru including all dances in the Grease portion of the show. The run thru on Thursday will be a full run thru of the class dances (referred to as & More ) and the dances in Grease which are also class dances (Grease is the Word, Hand Jive and We Go Together and the Beach Pas so we can rehearse costume changes). Photography-The studio Dress Rehearsals will be in full costume and the Photographers from Photos by Andra will be present at both locations to photograph your dancer and his/her classmates for this special occasion. Order forms will be posted on the website www.bethfowlerschoolofdance.com for you to print out and bring with on the day of your rehearsal. Attire/Hair/Make-Up- All dancers beginning level and up should have a nude leotard and tan tights for this show Creative Dance will wear their pink leotard and pink tights. If you need to purchase any of these items we have them available in the boutique at each studio. All Grease Dancers need the school dress code black camisole leotard. These do NOT HAVE STRAPS ACROSS THE BACK OR LACE OR RHINESTONES. They are plain black leotards with camisole straps. Teachers may also ask students to provide a pair of black bootie shorts and/or black jazz pants. The dancer s hair should be in a clean bun with their bangs slicked back. Dancers will have their hair in only one style for the whole & More part of the show. The amount of quick changes make changing hair styles impossible. The Grease portion of the show all girls will have a pony tail. This should be easy as the students will just need to remove bobby pins from the buns and they will have a pony tail. Students should wear makeup to highlight the eyes, cheeks and lips. Stage lights wash out the dancers faces so apply heavier than you would for a night out. Colors based in red tones work better than pinks for the lips and cheeks. PLEASE LABEL ALL CLOTHING AND SHOES WITH YOUR NAME OR INITIALS, ESPECIALLY ALL DANCEWEAR, BALLET AND JAZZ SHOES. Snacks- all dancers should bring a water bottle with their names on it. There is absolutely no food allowed in the theatre. If the dancers need to eat during the dress rehearsal day at the theatre, they must do so downstairs and they need to do so before the run thru begins and costumes are out. There is no need to send any snacks to the performances. There will be no time to snack with costume changes and the show is not long. Dancers may not eat in costumes. Plastic Bins- in this show we ask all dancers who are in more than one number to bring a bin with their name on it for their costumes and accessories. The dancers will receive all of their costumes at the beginning of the show. They will remain in their bins during the show and are then returned to the regular bins at the end of each show. The plastic bins MUST remain at the theatre and will not go home with the dancers so dancers will need a dance bag to bring any personal items home that they do not wish to leave at the theatre. The bins should have a cover and be large enough to hold their costumes. Tickets- New Ticket Prices for Children and Students!! Are available online at www.egyptiantheatre.org Tickets purchased before June 1 st are at an early bird discount $20 adults and $15 for students (13yrs old thru college with school ID) 8.00 child 4-12 yrs.
