Tennis Player Assessment Rate these statements honestly by circling the number that most represents your answer. Then read the instructions below to determine what areas are your strength and where you have room to improve. Statement 1 I am fully committed to becoming the best tennis player I can be. Statement 2 I have three shots that are weapons against anyone I play Statement 3 My technique is very good on all my shots Statement 4 I am physically strong, I can last three long sets and still feel strong.

Statement 5 I have cardiovascular endurance that lasts three sets without a significant loss in my playing ability Statement 6 I stretch every day Statement 7 I have a good social support system that encourages my tennis Statement 8 I have friends and/or loved ones who listen to me when I talk about my tennis Statement 9 I make good decisions about where and when to hit shots during a rally Statement 10 I prepare for a point by planning my first shots Statement 11 I hit practice touch shots as well as power shots during my practice sessions

Statement 12 I understand how to produce different shots and can read my opponents technique assessing what balls will cause them difficulty Statement 13 During my practice sessions I always work on my strengths as well as my weaknesses Statement 14 I don t loose my concentration at anytime during a match Statement 15 One of my strengths is focus and I can read where my opponent will hit the ball Statement 16 I practice my shots by visualizing them Statement 17 I love the game of tennis Statement 18 Every time I am on the court I feel great, like this is where I am meant to be

Results add the following numbers together from the statements specified to attain a score for each tennis component. Then view your score on the rating scale below. Moving forward continue to practice and even focus on this area to develop confidence. 9-12 A moderately good area that more concerted effort could become a section to rely upon more consistently. 5-8 You are less than 50% towards a complete tennis player in this area. A concerted effort is needed. Recommend employing help from a professional to improve your score. 1-4 This is a significant weakness and will prevent you from attaining your best. Recommended is a professional to first assist you in developing a plan of attack and then action to improve this section.
