Team s Event Roster for Match Cards Have team roster posted on GotSoccer by Thursday, September 25, 2014. Match cards will be printed on this date prior to the tournament. Home Team The team listed first on the schedule for the preliminary round of games will be the Home Team. For Championship and Consolation games, the team with the highest total points of the paired teams will be the Home Team. If both teams have the same number of points, a coin toss by the Field Marshal/Referee will determine the Home Team. In the event that both teams have the same colored jerseys, the Home Team will switch to alternate jerseys as determined by the referee. To simplify matters, we strongly suggest the Home Team wear a dark color and the visitor wear a light color. o Home team will provide three (3) game balls acceptable to the Center Referee Game Start All games will start at the scheduled time. Teams must report to check in / Field Marshall 30 minutes before each game for check-in. If a team has not taken the field with at least seven (7) players within 5 minutes of a scheduled game time, the game will be forfeited to the team with at least seven (7) players in attendance. For 8 v 8 games, the minimum number of players is six (6). All preliminary games will end not less than five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the following game, regardless of the amount of time played up to that point. A game is complete upon completion of at least one half of play regardless of the circumstances of termination during the second half. Final results will be based on the score at the time the game is called. Preliminary games can end in a tie. Game Length U9 - U10 U11 U17 2 x 25 minutes 2 x 30 minutes Half Time will be 5 minutes Game Balls U9 - U11 size 4 U12 - U18 size 5

Tie Breaking Procedures Semi-final or other games that must produce a winner that end in a tie will go directly to penalty kicks as described by FIFA until a winner is determined. Only players who are on the field at the end of the game may participate in the penalty kick shootout. For Championship games and Consolation games to determine 3rd vs. 4th place, games that end in a tie in regulation time will be extended by two 5-minute overtime periods (with no rest period between them). Both overtime periods will be played to full completion - Golden Goal rule does not apply. If the game is still tied after the overtime periods, both teams will take penalty kicks as described by FIFA until a winner is determined. Only the players who are on the field at the end of the last overtime period may participate in the penalty kick shootout. Ties are an acceptable final outcome for all other games. Substitutions o Unlimited substitutions during a game are allowed at the discretion of the referee: o Prior to a throw-in by your team or by opposing team if they first initiated substitution (me too). o Prior to a goal kick by either team. o Prior to a kick-off by either team. o During an injury stoppage of play (only the injured player may be substituted). o A player receiving a yellow card caution may immediately be substituted, but this is not required (no other players may be substituted). For 8 v 8 Divisions Except for the special rules listed below, the FIFA Laws of the Game as modified by US Club Soccer will apply and by these tournament rules shall apply to 8v8 games: o Maximum number of players on the field at any time is eight (8), including the goalkeeper. o Opponents must be at least eight (8) yards away from the location of any direct or indirect kick, including start of play. In addition, the following rules will apply for U9 divisions only (not U10 or U11): o Goal kicks will be taken from anywhere within the '18'-yard penalty area o NO PENALTY KICKS. Instead, direct kicks in the penalty area shall be taken from closest point of the 18-yard penalty line.

In addition, the following rules will apply for U10 Girls division only o Penalty kicks will be taken at the 10yd mark. o Goal Kicks will be taken anywhere within the marked penalty area. Uniforms Jerseys, shorts and socks must be predominantly matching in the spirit of the uniform. Ejections and Cautions A player, parent or coach who has been ejected in a single game shall not return for that game and will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled game. Ejections will be reviewed by the Tournament Director and may result in a more severe penalty, including additional game suspensions in the tournament and potentially contacting of club, league, and playing association for additional penalties. Fighting by players, violent conduct or harassment of referees by players, coaches, parents or spectators will be considered serious misconduct. Each ejection will result in a cumulative deduction from the team s tournament points. Ejection of a player will result in a 1-point deduction & any ejection of a coach or a team-affiliated spectator will result in a 2-point deduction from the team s tournament points. For all ejections and cautions a referee report will be collected and forwarded the President of the team s League of Registration. Disputes Game conduct is under the total jurisdiction of the referee. The tournament will not overrule a referee s decision. Protests All game results will be considered final. No protest will be allowed. Coach Conflicts The tournament committee recognizes that Coaches may have two or more teams participating in the tournament. The tournament committee will strive to eliminate schedule conflicts for these coaches. We must be notified of the potential coach conflict before September 1 st. Notify us via email to tournament@sunnyvalesoccerclub.org If you do not get an acknowledgement of your email, it might not have been delivered. Teams with a coach conflict must list the same coach as the head coach for each team as part of the on-line application.

Scheduling involves numerous factors, including the requirement of sufficient rest time between matches, team travel distance, field availability and match times on the other tournament date. Occasionally, these factors will preclude accommodating a coach conflict and not all coach conflicts can be resolved. Often we cannot accommodate coach conflict requests that are brought to our attention after the schedule has been posted. We often cannot eliminate all conflicts for coaches with three or more teams on one weekend. We cannot accommodate conflicts that occur due to a coach that has two or more teams in Championship or Consolation matches on Sunday afternoon. Rules Changes The Tournament Committee reserves the right to modify these rules at any time prior to the start of the Tournament. Any rule changes will be announced at the team check-in. Any situation not covered by these rules will be resolved by the Tournament Committee. The Tournament Committee may alter these rules as necessary, and such changes will be final and no appeal will be accepted. Sunnyvale Alliance Soccer Club (SASC) Tournament Director As of September 25, 2014
