The Golfing Grads of USMA 25th Annual Reunion & Golf Tournament Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club Palm Harbor, Florida April 18-21, 2013 January, 2013 Most often a Silver Anniversary is marked by major celebration; however this year s milestone event is bittersweet due to the untimely passing of my brother, Dan Willson (USMA 63). The Dipper worked tirelessly all year long planning this event so the Long Gray Line golfers would have a place to reunite, reminisce and play golf. Before he left us, he negotiated a two-year contract with Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida. I have enlisted the help of his son, Danny Jr., which most of you already know, to organize the remaining details. Let s encourage everyone who has ever attended this event to return for a grand celebration and tribute to Dan Willson. Innisbrook has four 18 hole golf courses (1) Copperhead, the site of the Transitions PGA Championship and consistently ranked by Golf Digest among the top 25 courses in the US, (2) Island, the home to the Legends Tour (LPGA) Open Championship, (3) North, and (4) South. Our three competitions will be held on the Copperhead Course (4- man scramble), Island Course (2-man team), and North Courses (Individual). The individual competition on Saturday will be conducted by flights (based on handicaps). We will stay in two-story lodges, each of which contain about 16-20 suites. Each suite includes a living room, built-in bar, and full kitchen. We will have the use of a Hospitality Suite located on the first floor of the Augusta lodge (see resort map). The Augusta lodge and the four other lodges clustered adjacent to it (Baltusrol, Belfast, Berkshire, and Byrnwyck) will be where we are staying. The swimming pool in the same cluster will also be available to us. The basic three-day package is for the evenings of April 18-21. Additional night packages (accommodations and breakfasts) are available for periods either before or after the basic package dates. See following pages for details. Practice rounds will be available but you will have to contact the Innisbrook staff, arrange your own tee times, foursomes and guarantee payment. As usual, several of the participating classes will help share in running this event. We extend our most grateful thanks to them. We have made reservations for 160 golfers. This three-day golf tournament will have team (USMA class) and individual competitions played on three quality courses the Copperhead Course, which plays host to the world s greatest golfers during the PGA TOUR s Transitions Championship with tree-lined fairways and rolling terrain defining the course; the Island Course, which has hosted numerous U.S. Open qualifiers and NCAA Championships and has also been ranked among the country s top 50 resort courses by Golf Digest; and the North Course, featuring tight fairways, an abundance of trees and well-bunkered greens. Make your reservation using the Reservation Request Form on the following page and contacting Innisbrook by one of three methods (Phone, Mail or Fax). If your reservation and deposit of $169.00 per person are not made by March 18th, you will not be guaranteed accommodations with The Golfing Grads of USMA. After that date, reservations will be made on an individual, space-available basis. If you must cancel after you have made a reservation, you will have until 72 hours prior to your original arrival date to cancel without penalty.
