Girls on the Run Charlotte
Absolutely AMAZING turnout and engagement from the participants and parents at this event. It was really fun and we talked to more than 300 people! -Spring 2017 5K Partner 3,750+ girls served annually in our positive youth development program 220 program sites in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties 850+ volunteer coaches who lead team of girls through our 10-week program 18,000+ runners and event attendees annually across our GOTR Charlotte 5K Series With the help of generous sponsors and donors, we were able to provide financial assistance to almost 60% of our program participants who otherwise would not have been able to participate in Girls on the Run. The Girls on the Run 5K is the culmination of our 10-week program where our girls and their running buddies run, hop, skip, or jump across the finish line to achieve a goal set at the beginning of the season. The GOTR 5K is a family friendly, non-competitive event that gives our girls a tangible sense of accomplishment and the belief that they can achieve anything. We host a North Region 5K in Concord and a South Region 5K in Southwest Charlotte to serve the needs of our girls, their families, and the community. Learn More Host a give back event with a percentage of sales benefitting GOTR and drive traffic to your location, as well as increase brand awareness to our girls, families, coaches and the community. Motivate Girls at the 5K: Host a cheer team or water station at our GOTR 5Ks. Coach a Team: Coaches are the heart of our program and are needed to lead GOTR teams across the Charlotte area for the Fall and Spring program seasons. Training is provided. Become a SoleMate: SoleMates are women and men who raise money for GOTR Charlotte while they train for the athletic event of their choice. Customized Group Opportunities: We can host a volunteer service day for your group. Companies often will match employee s donations to Girls on the Run Charlotte or donate money for employee who volunteer their time with GOTR. Check with your employer for details.
