These include, but are not limited to: Bruises, pulled, or strained muscles, torn, or strained ligaments, broken bones, dislocations, paralysis, or even death. GymQuest takes every precaution to limit these injuries. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent them all. We will take every step necessary to ensure your child s wellbeing. Cheerleading is a very strenuous sport. Therefore, all of the athletes in our program are expected to be in top physical condition. This includes flexibility, strength, and endurance. If needed, an athlete may be required to take an additional tumbling class. All extra classes will be billed separately. Time and Financial Obligations Cheer is a Bargain!!! Money, time and effort GymQuest Royal Twisters Tuition and Fees Your child s involvement in cheer will cost you money, time and effort. The children train in a large and well-equipped gym under the direction of an educated, experienced, and professional staff. At GymQuest Gymnastics we believe that the training, educational opportunities, and emotional support that we offer our students is valuable and important. The coaches spend an enormous amount of time planning, training, traveling, and supporting the Cheer Team in addition to the time they spend actively coaching them. Furthermore, the coaches meet with parents and team members, return phone calls, set up competitions, work to maintain the facility, and organize/administer the competition program. This may all be a labor of love, but it is still labor. Indeed, the coaches spend more time working on the development of the competitive team than on any other program in the gym. Given the extraordinary amount of time and effort the coaches put into the competitive program, it makes no sense to suggest that they do all of this work only to lose money every time the competitive team hits the floor. Therefore, it is the express policy of GymQuest to operate the competitive team program at a profit. What does it mean to operate the team at a profit? It means that the Cheer Team will not only pay the salary for the coaches when they work with them every day, but that they will also pay for the planning, administrative, training, and travel time as well. It also means that they will pay for the secretary and bookkeeping services that are required by the team program. They will also pay their fair share of the rent, utilities, cleaning, maintenance, taxes, debt service, and all of the other expenses that are required to have full floor use of a gym. This is an important item for you to understand as having Cheer on the floor for practice means that no other programs can utilize the gym at that time.
Commitment for a full year 1. The decision to join the Royal Twisters team is a big one and reflects a commitment to the team for an entire year. Team members do not move on and off the team based on illness, injury, conflicts or the like. You are either on the team or not. Team tuition would be higher if we determined tuition based on the likelihood that some team members might not be able to attend for various reasons. There is no discount for missed practices due to Holidays, inclement weather, vacations etc. 2. All fees and tuition are non-refundable. 3. Team Mom What does having a Team Mom mean for you and your family? 1. Communication-the Team Mom bridges that gap between the Coaching Staff and the Team. She ensures that you know where you're supposed to be and when-and any other details. 2. Camaraderie-the Team Mom introduces you to other team families, encourages supporting the cheerleaders, and overall helps set the tone for a great season. 3. Interpreter-often times the cheer world can be confusing, as well as the terms and culture that comes along the way. The Team Mom is all about making it a little less scary and a lot more enjoyable. 4. Coordination-without a Team Mom, the Coaches' attention can be pulled away from what's important-your Cheerleaders. The Team Mom makes sure uniforms are measured and ordered; spirit wear ordered and delivered; Competition registration assist; and she also delegates various tasks (photography, alterations, Make-Up, Hair, fundraising, Coach gifts, Cheerleader gifts, Holiday Celebration, Team Building Outings, and End of Season banquet). What can a Team Mom not do? 1. The Team Mom does not have any part of decisions that are made on the Gym floor or at the Front Desk. Concerns about your cheerleader(s)' abilities, or lack thereof, should be addressed with the Coaching Staff. Coach Toni has an "open door" policy, but that is during nonpractice/non-competition times. Problems with your billing or registration need to be addressed with the Front Desk Staff. Please note that we just had our six-month inaugural season, so while much of the Front Desk Staff has awareness of what our team does, some questions may have to be deferred to Cassie. 2. Discipline-again, this is a Coaching and/or Front Desk issue. Poor behavior is something that should be brought to their attention sooner than not. This team has high expectations of respect and fairness, and that goes for both Cheerleaders and Parents alike; but if they are not made aware of an issue, it cannot be properly addressed.
3. A GymQuest Employee. The Team Mom is a Volunteer position-not paid (although the success of the team can be payment enough! For every one email you receive, typically ten or more were processed to get you the right information-how you need it, and when you need it! However, please remember they are a Mom too-and have responsibilities outside of the Team, including their own Cheerleader, Family, and Job;) For the 2014-2015 season, we will have two Team Moms; Colleen Ross (630) 309-2473, colleen689@sbcglobal.net and Michelle King (720) 891-6654, mking899@yahoo.com. Our team is growing, and there will be additional various opportunities for parents to sign up, help out, and get involved with the Team-stay tuned!" Please contact Coach Toni @ toninissley@yahoo.com or Coach Tish @ mslong_91@yahoo.com for evaluation questions and/or any other items related to the Cheer Program.
