Hot Shot! Two students start back to back under the basket. On go, they race to accumulate the most points by shooting from the poly-spots of their choice. If they make the shot they pick up the poly-spot and place it in their stack. When all the spots have been taken, they each total their points and the winner gets to sign the poster. All spots can be the same value or you can assign different values to. (2 basketballs, 5 poly-spots, 2 deck rings)

Dribble Knock-Out Mark an area about 10 x 10 with floor tape, cones, chairs, etc. Each player has a basketball. On go all players begin to dribble and move around the area. All are against each other and they attempt to knock other players ball away. At any time a player stops to dribble correctly or losses their ball, they are out. Play continues until one player is remaining and they may sign the poster. (10 basketballs, 10 deck rings)

Shooting Knock-Out Two players or more in a single-file line, typically starting at the free-throw line Two basketballs, held by the first two players in line The first player in line begins the game by taking an initial shot. As soon as the first player has taken the initial shot, the second player may step up to the line and take his or her shot. If a player's initial shot does not go in, he or she may rebound the basketball and attempt to make a basket from any location. Once a player makes a basket, he or she must immediately pass the ball to the next player at the front of the line and then go to the end of the line. The player at the front of the line may take his or her shot immediately upon receiving a ball. If any player does not make his or her shot before the person behind them, he or she is "knocked out" and is out until a new game starts. The order of the players cannot change during the game except by shrinking in size as players are knocked out. The game continues until everyone is knocked out except for one final player, who is deemed the winner and may sign the poster. (2 basketballs, 2 deck rings)

Free-Throw Contest Make as many free-throws as possible in one minute. Sign the poster putting the number of successful baskets. (1 stopwatch & 1 basketball)

Get Crazy!!! Attempt to make as many backwards or one bounce slam shots as possible in one minute. Sign the poster and put the number of successful baskets. (1 stopwatch, 1 basketball, 1 deck ring)

Champion Ball Two players face each other each with a basketball at the free-throw line. When ready, they bounce their ball three times then they tap the balls together. Their first shot must be from the starting point, any preceding shots can be made from anywhere. The player that makes their ball in first is the champion and stays to compete against the next challenger. The other player moves to the back of the line. When a player wins 5 times in a row they may sign the poster and move to the back of the line. (2 basketballs, 2 deck rings)

Make as many baskets as possible in one minute. Sign the poster putting the number of successful baskets. (1 stopwatch & 1 basketball, 1 deck ring) 1 point 2 points 3 points Fire Away!

Musical Lay-ups Like the musical chairs idea Everyone begins in a chair (6 chairs), on go the kids move to their choice of two goals and make a lay-up (any kind of shot is fine though), then they return to the chairs. Each time (except the first time) you remove one chair until the winner is determined. Winner may sign the poster. (6 chairs & 6 basketballs)

Education Station #2 Brainstorm ideas and list them on the clipboard. We will share on the TAHPERD website

Education Station #1 Remember Where is your heart located? Just left of the center of your chest. Clean the ear pieces of the stethoscope, then listen to your own heart then listen to a friend s heart. Then let your friend do the same

Drink and Draw The students have the opportunity to draw anything they would like to draw centered around the HEART jump rope, hoops, the heart itself They must draw small and neatly. They may also get a drink at this station. (Butcher paper, poster board, crayons, markers, containers to hold crayons )
