RACE VENUE AND FINISHER ZONE A RACE VENUE LIKE NO OTHER We are proud to have one of the most amazing Race Venues in the world. It is second to none. The Race Venue is located right at Norefjell Ski & Spa at the small Football Court just before you drive up to the reception. It is here you will find T2, the Transition Zone from bike to run. You will also find the Finish Line here as well as the Finisher Zone. Get an overview of the Race Venue on the map on the next page. Be aware that it takes 15 minutes to drive by car from Norefjell Ski & Spa to the swim start at Lake Krøderen. Take that into consideration when planning your Race Day. We recommend that you prepare your T2, the Transition Zone from bike to run, first thing in the morning on Race Day. Then you take your bike and ride the 12 km down to the Swim Start at Lake Krøderen. Do not worry - it is all downhill on tarmac so it will not affect your legs. Then you do the Bike Check-in and you are ready to race. Remember - plan your Race Day schedule as T1 and T2 are in two different locations. 3

RACE VENUE AND FINISHER ZONE GET AN OVERVIEW OF THE RACE VENUE HERE YOU CAN SEE AN OVERVIEW OF THE RACE VENUE, FROM NOREFJELL SKI & SPA WHERE T2 AND THE FINISHER ZONE IS, TO T2 AND THE SWIM START, AND HOW THE COURSES ARE CONNECTED. HOW TO GET THERE FROM OSLO AIRPORT TO THE RACE VENUE For international participants, the most convenient way to get to Norefjell Ski & Spa - the Race Venue for XTERRA Norway Norefjell 2018 - is to travel to the Oslo Airport and rent a car or take public transport. It takes approximately 2 hours to drive from the Oslo Airport to the Race Venue. It takes approximately 2 hours to drive from the center of Oslo to the Race Venue. NORWAY OSLO AIRPORT OFFICIAL LOGISTICS PARTNER If you come from the Oslo Airport, drive to highway E16 and follow it to Soknedalsveien/Rv7 in Ringerike. From there continue on Rv7 to Krødsherad Kommune and Noresund. 5

HOW TO GET THERE PUBLIC TRANSPORT Renting a car is the best option but if you do not have the possibility to do that, then public transport in Norway is good. Download the app called Entur and plan your journey. Here you will find anything from detailed schedules and maps to departure and arrivals times and prices. You can also purchase tickets here. 6

TRANSITION ZONES AND BIKE CHECK-IN BIKE CHECK-IN Bike check-in the Transition Zone must be before 9:30 for all participants. You are only able to check in your bike on Saturday. As a minimum, you must check in your bike and your helmet. Both items will be checked for security reasons (bike breaking abilities and helmet bruises). You are not allowed to participate if your equipment does not pass the security check. Additionally, you can install your stickers on the bike and helmet before checking in your bike. And remember, you are only allowed to compete on MTB. That means, no cross or regular bikes! You choose your own spot in the transition zone. Place the stickers as shown on the illustrations. LUGGAGE ZONE You are only allowed to bring the clothes and equipment you are going to use during the race in the transition zone. All items must be kept close to your spot in the Transition Zones. In the event area, there will be a luggage zone where you are able to store your luggage during the event. Remember in the transition zone you are only allowed to bring the clothes and equipment you are going to use during the race the rest must be stored in the luggage zone. Storage of luggage is on your own responsibility; however, the area will be closed off. And as mentioned - remember your extra luggage from T1 will be transported from the Start Area to the Finisher Zone. 10

Arrive early and check-in your things for the change from bike to run in Transition Zone 2 at the Football Court at Norefjell Ski & Spa. Then ride your way down to Lake Krøderen where Transition Zone 1 is. Here you will check-in your bike. You can put your extra luggage not needed for the race in a car at Transition Zone 1. It will then be taken to the Finisher Zone where you can get it after the race. Please notice that there will be no toilets at Transition Zone 1 at Lake Krøderen so use the toilets at Norefjell Ski & Spa before making your way to the Swim Start at Lake Krøderen. TRANSITION ZONES AND BIKE CHECK-IN RULES IN TRANSITION ZONES Be attentive and show respect for the other participants in the transition zone. Everyone is interested in having a good race and everyone is interested in racing a good time but this does not exclude the fact that you must take care of each other in the Transition Zone. At an XTERRA race you wear your triathlon suit under your wetsuit, so you just should remove the wetsuit after the swim. You are not allowed to be naked in the transition zone. You are allowed to run in the transition zone, however, you are NOT allowed to bike. Your helmet must be fastened securely before you leave the Transition Zone. Make sure to use the extra second it takes to secure your helmet with both hands it is not preferable to run with your bike trying to secure your helmet with only one hand. Read the rules here: www.xterranordic.com/rules As mentioned, it is not allowed to bike in the transition zone. You must first mount your bike when you have passed the mount-line, which is clearly marked at the entrance to the Transition Zone. The same applies for re-entering the Transition Zone; here you must de-mount your bike before passing the mount-line and drag your bike in the Transition Zone. 13
